The book of Acts is the first volume of church history. It connects the early church to the ministry of Jesus and provides the backdrop for the New Testament epistles. The book's focus on the church and the spread of the gospel makes studying Acts a must for any believer serious about living out the Great Commission.
Join John MacArthur as he explains each verse in a way that is both doctrinally precise and intensely practical. Taking into account the cultural, theological, and Old Testament contexts of each passage, MacArthur tackles interpretive challenges and fairly evaluates differing views, giving the reader confidence in his conclusions.

He provides commentary related to the history and culture of the time relevant to the passages he is commenting on. He will insert background information that helps to place the scripture in context, and of course, most important of all, he always uses scripture to interpret scripture. I routinely use has commentaries as one of the sources I rely when I am teaching Sunday school. I have found his commentaries to be one of the best and very easy to read.

I have his full set of commentaries that I use as one of my sources for studies. I purchased the two commentaries on Acts as a gift for a friend that is preparing to teach a men's bible study. I may not agree with all of his views, but the points and relations to scripture and the history of the times that he brings to light is very much worth reading.
