A refutation of Creationism (but not Intelligent Design, which this book does not address, as it was published in the mid-eighties), this book relies on the apparent conflict between science and religion, of which there is none (science was built on and is based on Christianity). Since secular science has challenged traditional science in many fields and has subsequently become what is called 'modern science', seemingly incongruous elements of Creationism are not seen in their true light, but this book is not an attempt to clarify the situation. Kitcher rather attempts to refute Creationism utilizing that same 'modern science', giving us a perspective on how evolutionists distort science to their own ends.
