Selwyn Hughes studied theology in Bristol and was a pastor in England and Wales for eighteen years. After establishing a church in central London, he founded CWR in 1965.
Selwyns international ministry spanned five continents, and his seminar programs on Christian discipleship were motivated by a deep desire to share with Christians the best way to live and how to do it.
At the same time as the founding of CWR, Selwyn began writing the daily devotional, Every Day with Jesus, to encourage Christians to read their Bibles regularly. Today it has nearly a million regular readers worldwide.
Selwyn also developed a biblical model of Christian counseling that is still taught throughout the world in various formats including to degree and postgraduate levels. Selwyn continued to write and teach internationally until his death in 2006.
Today CWR has a flourishing publishing and training ministry enabling Christian to apply Gods Word to everyday life and relationships.
