Reese Mitchell is all kinds of swoony. From his unpolished accent to his tender-loving heart. Dee swoops into town and is hoping to swoop out just as quickly...That is until God grabs a hold of her heart. Tormented with the fears and expectations of the past, Dee has very low expectations that anyone would be able to accept her for who she is.

I LOVE when authors infuse the love of the Father into the hero. Reese is a fire-lightin', dirty diaper changin', backwoods raised, pure Appalachian, man. Dee, although raised in the mountains has her eyes set on a much bigger prize...in her opinion.

Both Dee and Reese have unforgiveness and hurts of the past that they must learn to let go of. Forgiveness can be hard to give, and harder to receive in some cases. Especially the forgiveness that God has for us. Knowing that we don't deserve it and yet He showers us with His grace daily.

Pepper Basham captures the grace and love of the Father in a tender and touching story that will move your heart and open your eyes to the forgiveness and redemption that He has for you.

I received a complimentary copy of A Twist of Faith from the author. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine alone.

Oh, my goodness. What a delightful book of romance, with a large dose of forgiveness and grace. It took coming to a small town, where she didn't want to be, for Dee to find what she really didn't know she was even missing. And Reese. Who knew a widowed farmer father of two young children in Appalachia could be so charming? His family makes the reader wish they could just be a part of it, from his mama Grace all the way down to cute little blond haired Brandon. If you appreciate a really good Christian contemporary romance, A Twist of Faith is the book for you. This is the first book I've read by Pepper Basham, but it certainly won't be the last.

A Twist of Faith is a fantastic twist on a My Fair Lady retelling, full of humor and heart.

I the little elements Pepper includes to make a story so rich! In this instance, its to-do lists, a theme of grace, vibrant secondary characters (my personal favorite being Mama Mitchell), and plenty of romantic spark!

    Aint is not a word

Adelina, or Dee as shes known to her friends, was the perfect combination of flawed, broken, and likable. I found her easy to empathize with, even when her assumptions were wrong. Reese was a timely friend with past heartaches of his own which had rooted him deeply in his faith. (Pepper includes a tiny bit of mystery here which kept me guessing as to just what hed went through.) There is nothing quite as attractive as a man grounded in his relationship with Jesus. Combine that with his country charm, fatherly tenderness, and rugged charisma and you have a pretty perfect hero. It all might sound clich, but Pepper presents these two in such a compelling manner you cant help but root for them to find forgiveness, grace, and happiness together along the way.

Both points of view are written well, allowing the reader a glimpse into the personality and motivations of both Reese and Dee. My favorite view, though, was Reeses! He was the one with THE accent I could almost hear the Appalachian drawl of his thoughts.

Peppers passion for her day job, in speech pathology, shines through in a unique way in this story. Her character Dee shares her vocation and clearly, an eagerness to help others. This understanding and compassion in embodied in the Mitchell family, as well, and serves as a beacon to Dee in her search for peace.

It was a great experience watching Dee slowly start to realize the dream of her heart is something completely unexpected. And, instead of running from it, she tentatively embraced it until the whole My Fair Lady parallel caused a few problems. Mostly, I loved Peppers simplicity in her message of Jesus. Hes the most essential remedy, the savior and friend who wants to meet you right where you are.

Thank you to Singing Librarian Books and the author for a copy of this ebook in exchange for my honest review.

A Twist of Faith is much more than a modern day version of Pygmalion it's a beautiful weaving together of two stubborn hearts that each learned an important lesson along the way. I loved getting "lost" in the pages of this story.

A Twist of Faith definitely had me hooked. When you find yourself talking to the characters of a book... you know it's a fantastic story!

My favorite genre to read is historical fiction and I don't often read contemporary Christian fiction. However, this isn't just any contemporary book, this is a Pepper Basham book, a gold mine waiting to be discovered!!
