Publisher's Description

Lights of Lowell book 1. "Tapestry of Hope" weaves together the heartrending and hope-building stories of two young women. Jasmine Wainwright is the sheltered daughter of a Mississippi plantation owner. When her father strikes a deal to sell his cotton to Lowell mills through businessman Bradley Houston, he throws an arranged marriage with Jasmine into the bargain. Kiara O'Neill and her brother escape starvation in Ireland by traveling to America as Bradley Houston's indentured servants. But Bradley has more in mind for Kiara than she wants to imagine. Both women suffer in the home of this unloving husband and merciless master. Will God somehow bring hope to their lives?

I had a very hard time with this book. It is definitely not your traditional romance, because there is almost no happy parts in the book. I was interested in the history of the textile/cotton industry but would have liked there to be some romance. I have enjoyed both of these authors before but have to say this is the worst "romance" I've every read.

good but rather slow. they took awhile to read, because they were kinda boring. A bit too much describing not enough action. but in the end it was pretty satisfying. it kinda depends on your patience level. otherwise the storyline was creative.

A Tapestry of Hope was rather boring. The history and information about the early colonial textile mills was quite interesting, but this book still didn't really capture my attention.I especially disliked Bradley Houston and his conniving, cruel ways. The way he treated Jasmine and Kiara was mean and unacceptable.I really liked Jasmine though! She was forced to marry a man she would never love(who would love Bradley!)and learned to draw closer to God.Though this book was somewhat enjoyable I'm hoping the next will be better.

I really **LIKED** this book! What I really liked was that not everything turned out perfect at the end, which makes it more true to life. Though her life was not always easy, Jasmine was still able to keep on trusting God. She had a lot of courage.

I had a hard time getting through the first few chapters of this book, but once I made it through them, I found the plot very enjoyable. The main character, Jasmine, goes through many emotional trials and the reader cannot help but sympathize with her plight. This is not one of Tracie and Judith's best novels, but even then I would still recommend it.
