Sweetpea5 Stars Out Of 5A Sister's ForgivenessMay 29, 2015SweetpeaQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I finished this book this morning at 1:30 a.m. I could hardly put it down once I began reading it. I don't know when I have ever been so moved by a book. It is a very touching story about a family -- all of whom were extremely close until the horrific accident shattered relationships. As the editorial review correctly states: "Schmidt's descriptions are so real and raw that you can empathize with the character's emotions." I highly recommend it, but keep your box of tissues beside you. You will definitely need them.

I began reading last night before bed and got sucked in. I stayed up until 5 am in order to finish the story in one sitting, because I HAD to know what happened next. It's amazing to see the far-reaching ripple effects of a single accident on both families involved, but also others in their community. I also learned more about some of the differences among Mennonite groups. One of Anna's greatest strengths as a writer is her ability to pull you into the relationships among her characters. I wish I could give this story more than 5 stars...
