Publisher's Description

Avery Truitt aches for true love—the kind she once shared with Prince Colin. Can she dare to hope for happily ever after, or is a fairy-tale ending beyond reach?

College volleyball star Avery Truitt has not seen her former flame, Prince Colin of Brighton Kingdom, since he suddenly pushed her away five years ago. But now, the sadness of losing her father and the joy of her sister Susanna’s pregnancy have brought Avery back to Brighton just in time for Cathedral City’s enchanting Christmas season.

Avery knows she can’t avoid seeing Colin—now the Kingdom’s most eligible bachelor—whether or not her heart is ready to relive the pain. But seeing him again might bring her the closure she needs after all this time.

When Colin finds himself at the center of a centuries-old Brighton tradition, he must decide whether to follow the path laid out before him or follow his heart to the only woman for whom he would ring the Pembroke Chapel Bell.

Can Colin convince Avery to meet him at the chapel on Christmas morning—as tradition dictates—or will Avery run back to her St. Simons home and pursue a coaching career as planned?

In the fourth installment of the Royal Wedding Series, New York Times bestselling novelist, Rachel Hauck, weaves a charming story of holiday romance as two broken hearts seek the love they once knew.

True confessions, I haven't read the Royal Wedding Series but I absolutely plan to after reading A Royal Christmas Wedding.

Rachel Hauck once again weaves a wonderful romantic reunion romance tale. Avery Truitt returns to Brighton Kingdom where she'd left behind a part of her heart with Prince Colin. Her strength and courage shone in her character and Colin's devotion to his kingdom, though respectable was disheartening when it came to Avery. Who doesn't love seeing the misunderstandings and romance develop just as it should? A Royal Christmas Wedding doesn't disappoint and for those like me, who haven't read the entire series, don't worry! The story is easy to follow and keeps you turning the pages.

Deb's Dozen: Avery and Prince Colin have a past. Will a Royal Wedding ensue?

Weddings have been the focus of Rachel Hauck's The Royal Wedding Series, and I have loved every single book she has written on the topic. A Royal Christmas Wedding is no exception. Avery Truitt is a washed-up, former volleyball player whose career ended with a rotator cuff injury. She works with her mom at the Rib Shack, her family's business, but her heart isn't into the work since her dad died. The place just isn't the same without him.

However, even with her losses, Avery has joy in anticipating the upcoming birth of her sister Susanna's baby. Susanna invites Avery back to the Kingdom of Brighton for the Christmas season and to help her prepare for the new prince or princess. Avery is at first doubtful because she knows she'll run into her old suitor, Prince Colin, whom she's not seen for five years.

In the meantime, Colin has been learning to be a royal, with duties and obligations surrounding his every moment. However, during one of the interminable balls of the season, after he's seen Avery and realizes he still loves her and she him, he also realizes he's entangled with Lady Jordan. He and his buddy, Guy, decide to escape to the Pembroke Tower where legend declares if the bells ring on this night, a prince will be married on Christmas Day. To their astonishment, the bells ring! What now?

The balance of the story involves God's providence, the machinations of a couple of reporters, and the very real love of two people meant to be together. But the means to the end is complicated with lots of twists and turns. You'll adore this final novella in The Royal Wedding Series. Four stars.

Rachel Hauck is the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling author of The Wedding Dress, which was also named Inspirational Novel of the Year by Romantic Times. The Wedding Dress was also a RITA finalist. Rachel lives in Florida with her husband and two pets.

Zondervan gave me a copy of A Royal Christmas Wedding, but I was in no way obligated to write a favorable review.

Rachel Hauck can write some of the sweetest romances and A Royal Christmas Wedding is right up there! The romance between Avery and Prince Colin hit a snag when his dad put his foot down and told Colin to forget her. So, what happens now, five years later when Avery and her mother travel to the kingdom of Brighton for the Christmas season? Her sister, Princess Susanna and the King, are expecting a baby and they want to spend some time together. But what about Colin? What happens when they meet again years after he dumped her? He is now escorting a young actress around town and all expect them to announce their engagement at anytime.

There is lots of miscommunication between Avery and Colin. Misunderstandings, hidden feelings also. Colin is trying very hard to listen to God's bidding as well as his own heart's. Will there be forgiveness between them? Is their relationship doomed to just being friends?

I loved the story; fell in love with the characters; and felt their emotions and angst along with them. I had not read the previous "prince" stories but did not find that hindered my understanding of this novel. However, after reading this one, I'm going to go back and read the one where Avery and Colin meet for the first time (Susanna's story). Happily ever after? Read and find out!

I received this book from the publisher through the Fiction Guild and was not required to write a review, positive or otherwise.

This was a charming Christmas story. While it's considered a novella, it reads like a complete book. I really enjoyed the setting of the story and the richness of the country's tradition of ringing the bell. The characters were well-written and believable.

Plot: Avery Truitt's reluctant to go to Brighton to visit her sister. Doing so will mean running into her ex-boyfriend Prince Colin, who happens to be her brother-in-law's cousin. Both Avery and Colin's heart were broken when they broke up, but now Colin's expected to marry the wealthy Lady Jordan who he's been escorting to all the royal events. Brighton tradition surrounds an old chapel bell and the stories of men who would ring the bell for their true love, resulting in Christmas weddings.

Recommendation: This is the perfect story for anyone who's dreamed of one day finding her prince. While this novella is part of the Royal Wedding Series, it can stand alone. I haven' t read all the rest of the series, yet I still felt like I wasnt missing anything. This is strong Christian fiction, with the presence of God firmly felt in some scenes, so if that's not your thing, I'd suggest looking for another book.

    Rating: 4.5/5 stars

I received a copy of this book from the Thomas Nelson Fiction Guild. This review is my honest opinion.

Avery Truitt is still confused and frustrated as to why Prince Colin of Brighton Kingdom walked away from her five years ago and left her with nothing but questions and silence.

Avery's sister, Susanna, invites Avery and their mother over to Cathedral City for the Christmas season. Colin, Brighton's most eligible bachelor, will be unavoidable with all the family events planned. Avery will have to either relive the pain of seeing him, or will finally receive closure after all this time.

God places Colin right in the middle of centuries old tradition, and Colin must decide if he will follow his heart, or what his family expects of him.

I loved revisiting Brighton Kingdom and learning Avery and Colin's story. Rachel Hauck has once again delivered a sweet romance that is an easy and enjoyable read. Even though the Christmas season is over if you look at the calendar, I still loved the book.
