When I first read about this book I quickly scanned the summary and thought it said the Robinson Crusoe family celebrations. But I am also familiar with the Robertson family as our friends love to watch their series.
We have viewed it for a few minutes at a time at their house as we don't get that channel. Sounded like a good read and was glad to get it to review.
Starts out with Stacey and she'd entered a contest to send her son to experience Christmas holidays with the Roboertson family. She can't believe she won the contest! Now to break it to Hunter, her son who's lately taken it upon himself to not follow the house rules any longer and has been caught with drugs...
Hope and pray and all she could do is thank God. Hunter arrives at the Robertson's and they make him feel at home but he's got a dark cloud over his head. So many lend him advice and some of it sinks in.
He does start to be like the others after a time. So many things happen to him along the way. Great idea of not only hear Hunter's side to what's going on but Korie's side to what's going on as well. It makes you feel like you are there.
Faith and hope and passages from others in the family preaching about the good Lord really fit into this novel. Glad I was able to read this book, shed a light on what the Duck Dynasty is all about-not what you see on TV.
Love all the 'firsts' he's able to experience that will last a lifetime. Family traditions, old and new are treasures.
Chapter headings have so much meaning! Mystery surrounding where Willie is during the whole book and what he's up to is funny.
Beautiful story! Glad I'm able to understand the family and what they are all about.

nkwbookreviewer5 Stars Out Of 5Heartwarming, Humorous Christmas NovellaAugust 12, 2016nkwbookreviewerQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5A Robertson Family Christmas by authors Miss Kay Robertson and Travis Thatcher is a small hardback book. This 321 page Christmas holiday novella is published by Tyndale. It is not a large print book but the type is not small. This sweet read would make a great gift for anyone and be good for a gift exchange.
It explores the possibility of being happy at Christmas even when feeling alone most of the time. The Robertson Family of Ducky Dynasty fame is the center of the book along with a boy name Hunter. He comes from a broken family and feels unconnected and lonely. After winning a holiday contest to spend Christmas with the Robertsons Hunter finds himself in the middle of a fun, loving, boisterous, God loving, Christian family. The authors' writing style is very nice and makes this book a quick, ways ready. At no point was I bored. It is a great holiday, family, Christian book. I one of my favorite smiles in the book is Uncle Willie singing Pharrell Williams' "Happy" on Christmas Day. Can't you just picture that?! One of my favorite heart warming parts is the line "God doesn't promise us an easy life. He does promise blessings, but we can't always imagine what they will be." How sweet and true.
This heartwarming, humorous, inspiring book is based on the Robertson family traditions at Christmas. The authors do such a good job in their writing you will feel right at home with the family smelling the yummy aromas from the kitchen, hearing the songs, and feeling the love. I thoroughly enjoyed it and rated it a 5 out of 5 stars. I would recommend it for anyone. I received a copy of this book from The Book Club Network for my honest review.
jacquiRIllinoisAge: Over 65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5A Robertson Family ChristmasJune 8, 2016jacquiRIllinoisAge: Over 65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5The novella, A Robertson Family Christmas, by Miss Kay Robertson and Travis Thatcher is a wonderfully uplifting and heart-warming story that focuses on a young man who feels alone and separated from any family. He lives with his mother after his parents divorce and has no close relationship with her or with his father and brother who live together. His mom hears about a contest in which the winner will spend Christmas with the duck-dynasty Robertson family in West Monroe, Louisiana. She feels led to enter the contest in order to somehow help her troubled son. Her entry wins their attention, and a reluctant Hunter is bound for Louisiana. Supposedly the Robertson Family is well-known, but Hunter has never heard of them nor does he care.
Can this experience change a lost, lone teen and make a difference in his life? Not only do readers get a delightful story but also they gain a bonusa glimpse into the lives and the Christmas traditions of the Duck Commander family. This short, easy read is packed with family values, Biblical truth, and entertaining moments. I highly recommend this novella that I received through TBCN in exchange for an honest review.

Kay Robertson has a talent for writing and even though it is a fictional story she includes true family traditions at Christmas time and their family 's faith and values that make you feel like this story is true. I have watched a number of the Duck Dynasty shows and love that their Christian faith is displayed in each episode. Love the family dinner and prayer time.
Unknown to Hunter his mother has entered his name in a contest and he won. The prize is to spend Christmas with the Duck Dynasty Robertson Family. Due to his mother and fathers divorce Hunter a teenager with a poor attitude does not want to go and spend Christmas with strangers. He does not know what to make of this unusual family. When he begins to realize this family is full of love for each other and others he lets down his defenses.
A great and inspiring story that shows how love, laughter, a families faith, God's plans and direction can make a change in Hunters life.
I received a free copy of this book from bookfun.org for my honest opinion and review.
