In this eloquent account of her current struggle with physical pain, Joni Eareckson Tada offers her perspective on divine healing, Gods purposes, and what it means to live with joy.
Over four decades ago, a diving accident left Joni a quadriplegic. Today, she faces a new battle: unrelenting pain. The ongoing urgency of this season in her life has caused Joni to return to foundational questions about suffering and Gods will.
A Place of Healing is not an ivory-tower treatise on suffering. Its an intimate look into the life of a mature woman of God. Whether readers are enduring physical pain, financial loss, or relational grief, Joni invites them to process their suffering with her. Together, they will navigate the distance between Gods magnificent yes and heartbreaking noand find new hope for thriving in-between.
Joni Eareckson Tada is the president of Joni and Friends, an organization accelerating Christian outreach in the disability community. An acclaimed artist and the author of nearly fifty books, Joni lives with her husband in Southern California.
To read Jonis book, A Place of Healing, is like being engaged in a delightful personal conversation with her. She is honest, bubbly, Biblical, sagacious, and devoted to God and His truth. Joni shows us Jesus like few people can and encourages us in our response to Him regardless of our circumstances. - R. C. Sproul, Chairman and President of Ligonier Ministries; Senior Minister of Saint Andrews
Lewis5 Stars Out Of 5A Place of healingMay 11, 2016LewisQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5My pastor preached a sermon and mentioned some of Joni's quotes from this book of hers.
I ordered four books. Started reading one as soon as they arrived! I COULD NOT PUT THE BOOK DOWN! I CRIED AND WIPED TEARS THRU THE WHOLE BOOK!
THIS "JONI" IS AN "AWESOME" WOMAN OF GOD!
I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO BLESSED BY A BOOK OUTSIDE THE BIBLE!
I NOW LOOK AT SUFFERING IN A WHOLE NEW LIGHT/WAY!
I ORDERED ANOTHER TEN BOOKS TO HAVE TO GIVE OUT TO PEOPLE LOOKING FOR ANSWERS ON WHY GOD ALLOWS SUFFERING AND WHY HEALING FOR SOME NEVER COMES!
I AGREE WITH TONI THAT THOSE CHRISTIANS OUT THERE WHO TELL SUFFERING CHRISTIANS THEIR FAITH IS LACKING BECAUSE THEY HAVE NOT BEEN HEALED ARE VARY DECEIVED AND IN GREAT ERROR!
THEY OBVIOUSLY OVERLOOK THE SCRIPTURES THAT FLY IN THE FACE OF THIS FALSE DOCTRINE OF THEIRS ON HEALING!
I KNOW SOME PERSONALLY WHO HURT OTHER CHRISTIANS TELLING THEM THEY MUST HAVE SIN IN THEIR LIVES OR A LACK OF FAITH OR GOD WOULD HAVE HEALED THEM ALREADY!
THEY NEED JUST HALF THE WISDOM JONI HAS AND THEY WOULD SEE THEY ARE IN GREAT ERROR!
THESE KIND OF CHRISTIANS ARE PUTTING THEMSELVES IN HARMS WAY BECAUSE GOD WILL GIVE THEM SOMETHING THEY CANNOT PRAY AWAY JUST TO TEACH THEM THE ERROR OF THEIR WAYS!
THESE KIND OF CHRISTIANS ARE FILLED WITH PRIDE OVER THE GREAT FAITH THEY "THINK" THEY HAVE!
I WILL CLOSE BY POSTING THIS SCRIPTURE!
Proverbs 16:18 KJV
Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

His to serve ...5 Stars Out Of 5Joni does it AGAIN!March 14, 2016His to serve ...Quality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5RARELY, have I written a review for ANYTHING. This read, however, DEMANDS comment. To save you precious time in reading a review, this book is a MUST read for ANYBODY, regardless of circumstances, i.e., one does not have to be pained/suffering to benefit. Wow, no amount of wordage or accolades would do it justice. Like ALL/EVERYTHING that she writes/has written, it is simply glorious. EXCEEDS expectations! Buy it for your library to KEEP; buy multiple copies to disperse. You WILL be blessed.

I picked up several copies and I distributed a couple to give out to some people that are going through a rough patch at church. One of the most insightful books I have ever read and probably the best on the subject of suffering for Christ. I highly recommend this book to everyone. Top notch.
