I have wanted to read this book since before it was released. Last week I had an opportunity to finally read it and I enjoyed every moment that I spent with this book. I was first drawn to this book when I read the title. I thought that the cover was very pretty. I was completely drawn into the story from page one and I remained intrigued by the characters and story plot until end of the book. I felt that the book was entertaining and an easy read. I have never been disappointed in any book that I have read by this Author. A Is for Amish is the first book in the Amish ABCs series. This is a good time to start the series with book one. Book two, B Is for Bonnet releases in January 2025.

This book is a story about four Adult siblings that live in Cleveland Ohio. Three of them are well educated and have entered the working field in the city. The youngest sibling is just beginning to attend college. Their Father was raised Amish but jumped the fence and moved to the city where he met and married the siblings mother. During their growing up years they had spent their summers with their Amish grandparents. They had many happy memories of their time spent on the farm. The siblings were proud of their Amish heritage and wondered what it would be like to be living a plain life. Would they be happier in that life than they are living their nine to five life in the city?

All four of the siblings become driven to move to their grandparents farm and live like the Amish for a period of one year. If at the end of the year they wanted a plain life more than they did their fast paced lifestyle they would become baptized into the Amish community. This book and the reast of the series is their story about their experiences living the Amish lifestyle .

I highly recommend this book to readers of Amish fiction and Amish romance. Readers of Christian Fiction will love reading this book.

I borrowed a digital copy of this book from the Hoopla Digital Library. All thoughts and opinions shared here in this review are solely my own.

A is for Amish is a good and sweet book. It is a story about keeping and having faith in God, making decisions in your life as an adult, relationships with family, friendships, and falling in love. It is the story of four grandchildren that are trying to decide if they want to join the Amish way of life and faith like their grandparents do or if they want to keep living their lives in the modern world. This is the first book in a new series by Shelley Shepard Gray. Thank you to Netgalley and Kensington Publishing Corp. for giving me a complimentary copy of this book to read and review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

A is for Amish is the 1st book in the series that 4 siblings who are english decide they want to be Amish like their grandparents. After convincing their grandparents to let them try to become Amish it was decided no more than 2 at a time for a year. Martin and Kelsey start. The stress starts for Kelsey with the chickens that hate her. Martin is not sure if he really wants to be Amish but he is in love with the girl next door. Kelsey also finds love. Can they succeed or will one or the other decide to stay english? A really good read but not stand alone. You will need the other books!

I could not stop reading this book! The story began with four adult siblings, grandchildren of Amish grandparents, but having been raised English, making the pronouncement that all four of them want to try living as Amish. The grandparents and the Bishop have recommendations for how to go about this and it is decided that two of the siblings will begin a one year trial period and see how things go.

The decisions that Martin and Kelsey have to make are not cut and dried. There were things that worked well for them and things that didn't. Ways they fit and ways they struggled. There were love interests that developed for both Martin and Kelsey, however, that didn't ensure that their transitions into Amish life were secured.

I appreciated the honest way these two looked at things. Even when it seemed that Martin was overly critical of himself and not completely happy in either the English world or the Amish world, it soon became clear that he was genuinely trying to make the right decision for himself, knowing that it would impact not only him, but also his family and the woman he was falling for.

The author wrapped part of the story up with a beautiful happily ever after, while leaving a wonderful opening for the next story to take place. I'm eager to see who tries the Amish life next and also am excited to see how a continuing storyline flows through into the next book.

A is for Amish is the 1st book in the new Amish ABC's series by Shelley Shepard Gray. This book starts out with 4 Englisher's thinking about turning Amish. A few decide to move in with their grandparents for a year. I know I couldn't wait till I got to the end to see which if any of the grandkids turned Amish. It was interesting to see all the things that they struggle through. Good way to start a new series and can't wait to read the next book in this series. I hope you pick this book up and enjoy it as much as I did.

I was given an advanced copy to read and wasn't told to give a good review just an honest one.
