Momof3North CarolinaAge: 45-54Gender: Female5 Stars Out Of 5Wonderful, I Can Read! Level 2 Book: "A Father's Love"February 28, 2015Momof3North CarolinaAge: 45-54Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Im so glad Zonderkidz is publishing I Can Read! books like A Fathers Love from the childrens, NIV Adventure Bible. A Fathers Love is a level 2 book, which means it is a high interest story for developing readers.
The full-page, colorful illustrations are beautiful. Most of the thirty-two pages contain thirty words or less. Sentences are broken up into about ten words per line. The print is large and easy to read.
Of course, this is the familiar story Jesus told about a father and his sons. One son leaves his father and squanders his inheritance until he is eating with pigs. He decides to go home and ask for his fathers forgiveness. If you havent heard the story, Ill not tell you the ending, but I will tell you that at first, not everyone is happy to see the prodigal son. But there is a happy ending!
This is a great story to share with youngsters. Most first third grade students will find the text within their reading range.
Fathers Love will open up discussions on responsibility, forgiveness, jealousy, and acceptance.
I highly recommend this well-written and beautifully illustrated book.

Milk Donor MamaOhioAge: 25-34Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Great lesson, strange illustrationsDecember 23, 2014Milk Donor MamaOhioAge: 25-34Gender: femaleThe Adventure Bible Series book A Father's Love is a story for kids at reading level 2. It is a retelling of the story of the father with two sons, one who was loyal but bitter and one who was a spendthrift and foolish.
This story offers several great lessons to young children, the most important of which is the unconditional love of the Father and the father. A child could read this on his or her own or a parent could read it along with their child. I think this book would be a great addition to a Sunday school library.
My only qualm with this book and the others in the series is that the people are drawn to look like caricatures and they look weird, almost creepy.

Kris BushOrlando, FLAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Early ReviewDecember 22, 2014Kris BushOrlando, FLAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5So I have an advance copy of 'A Father's Love' as a member of the Booklookbloggers program. I must say I enjoyed reading this book to my children and my oldest child (7 years old) has enjoyed reading it on her own. My middle child (3 years old) like to flip through the pages and tell his own story to go with the illustrations. I also like that the story keeps to the bible, not taking out the older son's reaction but including it so children can learn early on that even when you do bad you are loved....and not to be mad that your sibling who does do wrong still gets loved.
