--Lynette Eason, best-selling, award-winning author of the Blue Justice series

John Cross is a small-town pastor, bent on leading his flock to follow God's calling. He's not the sort of man one would expect to have a checkered past.

But the truth is that the man behind the pulpit preaching to his sheep was once a wolf--an assassin for the CIA. When John decided to follow Christ, he put that work behind him, determined to do penance for all the lives he took. He vowed never to kill again.

Now someone wants the peaceful pastor to pay for his sins with his own life. And when a terrorist out for revenge walks into the church, John's secrets are laid bare. Confronted with his past, he must face his demons and discover whether a man can truly change. Can he keep his vow--even when the people he loves are in mortal danger? Will his congregation and the brave woman he's learning to care for be caught in the cross fire? In the end, John's life may be the only sacrifice he has left to offer. . .

Andrew Huff's thrilling debut is not only a riveting story of suspense, it's also a deep exploration of the moral quandaries that face those who choose to follow the Prince of Peace in a violent world.

Editorial Reviews

“Wow! I didn’t see that coming. Am I going to have to now follow John Cross from book to book, movie to movie? I hope so! Is it possible to walk with the Lord and be a spy? I hope so! What an opportunity to imagine carrying Christ into every kind of job and seeing the impact it has in a page turning, compelling story. Get to know Cross. Get to know Huff. I think we are going to be spending a lot of time with them.” -- Randy Hahn, Senior Pastor of The Heights Baptist Church, Virginia

“Huff has written a fast paced novel which draws the readers into the adventure from the opening pages. An intriguing story with suspense, action, and danger. The major characters wrestle with faith, forgiveness, and redemption in a believable plot line that holds the readers’ attention to the end.” -- Glenn Kreider, author of God with Us

“What a ride! A Cross to Kill had a lot of amazing action (right from the beginning!) but an even better story to tell. I was amazed at the amount of detail Andy was able to write into the scenes to bring them alive in my mind.” -- Rob Thomas, Founder & CEO of Igniter Media

An action-packed nail-biter from beginning to end, filled with enough twists and turns to put 24 and Jack Bauer to shame! I couldn’t put it down. Many thanks to Andy for hours of entertainment and frantic page turning. -- Lynette Eason, best-selling, award-winning author of the Blue Justice series

Author/Artist Review

Author: Andrew Huff
Submitted: October 29, 2019

Tell us a little about yourself.  I spent 10 years in local church ministry both as a Middle School Pastor (and yes, I actually enjoyed it) and as a Creative Director/Pastor. I left ministry as God called me to pursue creative storytelling outside the local church by joining the team at Igniter Media, one of the nation's premiere church ready-made media companies. I live in Texas currently and am married to a beautiful woman with whom I have two football-obsessed boys and one anxiety-laden rescue dog.

What was your motivation behind this project?  I loved reading thrilling fiction but struggled to find something with the level of action I desired but framed inside a biblical worldview. Not satisfied with what I was reading, I decided to see if I could write my own stories that rivaled Mission:Impossible and James Bond but with theological truths women within.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  I hope first and foremost that they find the story entertaining. Alongside that, I also hope they encouraged by the truth that God's forgiveness covers not a multitude but every single past, present, and future mistake we've made.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  I love the novels of Clive Cussler, James Rollins, and Matthew Reilly. I think Robert Ludlum's The Bourne Identity is one of the best thrillers ever written. I would also say the Mission:Impossible franchise is one of my favorites, and I would be remiss if I didn't mention that my childhood hero is the original MacGyver!
