As I have parused through this book, I have been very impressed. I merely thought that it was going to talk about different parts of the world. What this book actually is is a good introductory to earth science. What makes it even more of a gem is that it incorporates activities that can be used for writing activity and art...not to mention the service oriented projects that are included. It is a fabulous find.
My only fault with the book was that it is paperback. For $30 it should be hardcover. The contents however, are really very good. Full of activities and suggested reading if desired. I think we'll be working through it this summer instead of waiting until fall.
What a WONDERFUL book! Each chapter presents an aspect of geography in very clear, plain language. It also gives credit to God for the design of the world. The last part of each lesson is a postcard to describe your "travels" and there are other activities and books that are recommended (but NOT required to successfully complete the course). This was another great purchase from CBD!
My daughter loved, loved, loved this book. She loved the readings, activities, notebooking, and especially the projects. She used it when she was 11 and was able to do most of it independently. This book makes learning geography fun.
