Good is a new-to-me author. In Change of Heart, the first in the Sisters and Friends series, she deals with the subject of Amish rumschpringe and a realistic view of what happens when your heart and your faith are not parallel. Will Lydia remain true to her Amish upbringing and never experience being married to the man she loves? Each is stand alone and focuses on the lives of the Esh sisters.
KavRCanadaGender: female5 Stars Out Of 5SpellbindingNovember 15, 2016KavRCanadaGender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Eureka! I've just discovered a new-to-me favourite author and she writes Amish stories! Woot! I was completely captivated by the Esh sisters and thrilled to discover this is Book One in the Sisters & Friends series. And we don't have to wait long to get a hold of Book Two -- it comes out this winter. Double woot!
Good has created an enthralling family tale rife with angst, forbidden love and abiding faith. I was on tenterhooks the whole read. The Esh family dynamics had my tummy in knots for most of the read. From Lydia's unbending father to her outspoken grandmother -- well I was laughing and fuming and ready to scream in places. And poor Lydia tries to serenely navigate her way through it all while her heart is in turmoil and her dedication to her faith is tested. Riveting stuff.
If you love Amish fiction, you need to read Change of Heart. Really.

She finds her faith being tested! First her sister, then her father wasn't who she thought he was and then a new male friend causes her heart and mind to rethink her relationship with her intended.. This story had a lot of surprising twists that I was not expecting in an Amish story. I really enjoyed this young ladies story and wondered how this forbidden romance would end.. I would recommend it to anyone who would enjoy a little more modern Amish story.. I was gifted a copy for review.

This was well written and I wanted to laugh and cry. What would you do if you had to choose between faith and family against love? This shows one persons fight against falling in love with the wrong man. I loved Lydia and Caleb and how they learn from each other. I received a copy of this book from CelebrateLit for a fair and honest opinion.
