Carl Luepnitz was raised on his familys farm in northern Michigan. He finished high school as valedictorian before obtaining his bachelors degree from Michigan State University and masters from the University of Alabama. He is a graduate of the US Army Command and General Staff College. After serving twenty-six years in the Army, he retired a full colonel. Carl served as a missionary for twenty-nine years.
