An excellent, helpful book for those who wish to become more like Christ. Bridges is steeped in Scripture, and its wisdom comes out plainly and accessibly on every page. His emphasis on practical godliness is refreshing.

I led our Theology Breakfast folks through this book, and it was life-changing for them. Two items of particular help for us were his chapter on indwelling sin and his emphasis on "obedience, not victory."

One particular aspect of the book I appreciated was that his illustrations are appropriate, but they don't drive the bus the way so many modern books use them. Rather, exposition of Scripture does the work, and application drives it home to the reader's life.

Extremely well-done. Highly recommended for all Christians who desire to grow in Christ; mandatory reading for pastors, elders, deacons, and biblical counselors.

Wow, I'm blown away by the nuggets of wisdom and truth in this book. Wish I'd found this book earlier in life. I see much more clearly who God is and how my life is His. It really has changed my life and purpose in serving Him.

Outside the Bible this book has impacted me probably the most! Its practical and applicable to daily life and struggles. It took me 3 weeks just to digest chapter 1 as it nails it. Simple read, but profound. l love the study guide too.

The Pursuit of Holiness is a Christian classic by the noted Christian author Jerry Bridges. I am working through it one lesson at a time with a friend. We are gaining much insight from the book on what holiness is, and why it is for every Christian. I particularly like the built-in study guide, which causes the reader to think out Bridges' material from a scriptural viewpoint. An excellent resource for a Bible study group.
