This is a great book! Though, I would admit it would be for a student with more experience in drawing. Very well done with step by step instructions.

Art, History, Handwriting... These books do a nice job of hitting some historical highlights. It is not a standalone history book. I have used it with a group of kids grades 1, 3, 5, 6, and 8 at the same time (7 kids total). The youngest needed special coaching, but that is to be expected when you have speedsters in the group! The child that was most reluctant to draw became interested due to these books, as he could see that the pictures were interesting but doable! (I am not much of the drawing type, and I could actually draw, too!)

The book includes verbal cues for teachers, but I recommend drawing while explaining. It also has occasional one page essays for students to copy in cursive.
