Author/Artist Review

Tell us a little about yourself.  I am a freelance writer and editor who has specialized in writing about pets since 1998. I am married with two kids and have two dogs, Sugar and Scout.

What was your motivation behind this project?  I love dogs and cats, and I was so excited to be asked to be part of such a terrific family of inspirational books.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  It is very hard to read one of these stories and not be touched by it. I hope that people find a glimpse of hope and love in each story and are able to take that with them into the rest of their day.

How were you personally impacted by working on this project?  I loved being welcomed into the world of every one of the contributing writers. Thousands of people submitted stories to this book, and even stories that weren't in the final 101 impacted it in some way. I feel very blessed to have been given the chance to read the stories that people cared enough to write.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  I have been influenced by teachers, family members, friends, and many many authors throughout my life. It's hard to even name a few. I have hundreds of books all over my house and each one is special. Something in it touched me, and it turned into a friend.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  One of my favorite parts of the Chicken Soup books is that they connect us to one another. Each story resonates with us in some way. To feel that connection in such a disjointed world is a true gift. I would say a true spiritual gift.
