Everett Behr goes to great lengths to maintain his distance from people so they won’t stare at the disfiguring scars he sustained in a fire. A budding friendship with Tillie O’Dell eases his loneliness, but he is convinced she is only being gracious out of pity. Asking her to endure the humiliation of being with him is out of the question.

Connie Stevens lives with her husband of forty-one years in north Georgia, within sight of her beloved mountains. She and her husband are both active in a variety of ministries at their church. A lifelong reader, Connie began creating stories by the time she was ten. Her office manager and writing muse is a cat, but shes never more than a phone call or e-mail away from her critique partners. She enjoys gardening and quilting, and one of her favorite pastimes is browsing antique shops, where story ideas often take root in her imagination. She is a proud Marine mom and has been a member of American Christian Fiction Writers since 2000.

book, and they prayed and trusted God to help them.
I like Christian romantic and family background books.
I, also, liked the fact that Tillie looked at the inner person
instead of looking at the scars and outward appearance.
