Love: purer than Colorado snow, deeper than a Louisiana bayou. The Colorado Rockies have always been home to journalist Kelly Shepherd, but after the death of her father, and facing her first Christmas alone, she accepts an assignment that leads her deep into Louisiana's Cajun country. Since his wife's death, Denny Labouve has focused his attention on his ten-year-old daughter and the family business, but Kelly sparks the dying embers of his heart even as a Christmas cold front moves through his beloved Cajun country. Will Denny and Kelly be able to trust God to bridge the span between the Colorado Rockies and the Louisiana bayou?
Marian P. Merritt, a native of south Louisiana, began her love affair with the written word while sitting on her grandparent's front porch swing reading. Her articles have appeared in magazines, newspapers, and online. She holds a B.S. degree in physical therapy and an accounting certificate from the University of South Alabama. KatyTennesseeGender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Touching Christmas StoryNovember 3, 2013KatyTennesseeGender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Southern Fried Christmas is a love story, but it's also a story about family. Family relationships, family traditions and family members reaching out to show their love and friendship toward those outside of the family.
The author has a gifted way of reaching through the pages of her book and pulling in the reader. I feel like I know the people and would be quite comfortable joining in their Christmas celebration.
The sweet romance that engulfs Denny and Kelly comes on so naturally and seems so right. The pace is perfectââ¬âthe story moves along, but without rushing. I especially like that Denny and Kelly look for God's guidance and direction. The faith part is written in a very natural and realistic way.
The story stays with me long after reading the last page.
