Product Description
Where did we come from? Why are we here? How did life start? Is corn a grain or a vegetable? For thousands of years, scientists, theologians and philosophers have tried to answer most of these questions. Over the last 200 years, two theories have dominated this exploration into life’s biggest questions. On a level playing field the truth will always win.
Evolution vs. Creation - This video tackles these important theories on a level playing field. Teacher and host, Philip Pfanstiel, leads an honest and humorous exploration of these theories, the science that supports them and sets the stage for an epic yet fair debate. Have we mentioned it’s fair?
Introduction of Theories - Using a light-hearted, insightful approach, stunning visuals and flying food, both theories are investigated based on their scientific merits. Good science demands testing. So get ready for the ultimate examination of life’s biggest questions. This is a fun and fair frolic movie with the facts featuring Philip Phantiel.

TeriNeosho, MOAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Fabulous teaching tool!December 6, 2013TeriNeosho, MOAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I watched this with my 7th and 8th grade homeschool co-op students and we all loved it! Presents both sides of the Creation/Evolution debate without being heavy-handed. It is so easy to see that evolution is a hypothesis with little to no proof. My only complaint? There is no second DVD that I can find and this one does not complete the debate.

Tell us a little about yourself. I'm a public school teacher in Mansfield, Texas, father of six children, and a writer and producer for Catacomb Films. I'm also a fry cook, athlete, waste technician and comedian - oh, wait I already said father.
What was your motivation behind this project? I was motivated to write and produce this DVD out of anger. I find the current polarized approach to science, religion and the question of origins very disturbing. Indoctrination works great for brainwashing students, true education is more difficult as it requires presenting divergent views and challenging students to think critically. As this is an educational DVD my approach for the series is to present both sides fairly and with respect and let the viewers draw their own conclusions.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? My desire is that those who watch this video will have their curiosity piqued and will study their Bible, children's textbooks and the TV they watch to get a better understanding of this controversial and complex issue.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? As I've always said, I'm my own best student. I learn more from teaching and writing then any of my students or readers. After all of the research, writing and production I can honestly say that I'm even more amazed by God and the beauties of creation - though I still don't know how He did it. I've also gained a deep respect for scientists from both camps.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? I have to give credit to Congress, Bill Maher and thousands of others who are unable or unwilling to have a good honest debate about topics of importance. I grew up in a family that loved to discuss issues. It wasn't about who won or lost, but about the process of digesting ideas and truth. I've tried to bring that approach to this DVD. The theme song was inspired by the Newsboys, and my other favorite artists are Rich Mullins, Keith Green, Steve Camp, Steve Taylor and authors C.S. Lewis, Hank Hannegraff, Don Richardson and Andrew Wommack.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: Evolution vs. Creation: On a Level Playing Field was designed for 7th through 10th grade. Its fast paced, humorous and remarkably balanced for a science DVD. It was designed for public schools as it presents the science and both theories fairly, but is great for home and private schools as it prepares students for the arguments they will be exposed to in college and beyond.
