Homeschool Family Fitness provides a year's worth of fitness improvement for everyone in the family. Lessons cover: muscular strength/endurance/flexibility, aerobic fitness, fitness games with minimal equipment, fitness tests, sports labs, and lesson plans. Forty weeks of instruction are included so if the weather does not cooperate (such as no snow), you have enough activities to choose from for the 36-week school year. A weekly schedule is provided with activities' grade appropriateness noted, and alternate activities if there is a disparity in what students can perform. Junior and Senior High students can use this book like a textbook with labs; parents can use this book like a lesson plan for younger students of all ages. This plan takes approximately 40-60 minutes each week. Selected forms and tracking sheets may be reproduced for family use. 166 pages, softcover.

■ 40 weeks of lesson plans and easy-to-use fitness tests, including swimming
■ Indoor, outdoor, sport-related, and snow games modified for home use
■ Modified rules to make games suitable for one to four participants of mixed ages
■ Sections on strength, endurance, flexibility, and aerobic fitness

marieg5 Stars Out Of 5great!July 6, 2016mariegQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I like this book! It tells about many games and how to play them and modifications for the number of children playing. Equipment to buy and to store it in a trash can of all things (works). My children need to get outside and wear off their energy. Most of the activities don't even have to take much time. There are many activities to do with bean bags for instance and I never thought of them. This book is for all grade levels and is for home school and for public school children.
I'm one of those public school and home school parents. I'm sure there are more of you like that. I extend areas the children are working on and in the case of Math teach it entirely using a different program.
I haven't read all of the parts about testing and parts of the body and rationale for the things he suggests. I'm looking forward to it.
If you have children that need to wear off excess energy, lesson plans for home school or want a way to add physical fitness into your life and how to bring your family closer together by doing activities. This book is for you. I look forward to telling you about the program as I have incorporated it with my family later.
