While at a major horse show, Skye gets the biggest shock of her life: a surprise encounter with a switchblade-wielding teenager named Wanda. Before long, Skyes foster parents decide to bring Wanda to Keystone Stables as a foster childand when they also purchase an out-of-control Mustang named Rebel, she can only wonder if theyve lost their minds. Tell us a little about yourself. I've worked with children of all ages and abilities for over 40 years. I presently am a homeschool consultant in central PA. I have two adopted dogs, Skippy and Honey, and they tell my husband and me what to do and when.
What was your motivation behind this project? I love kids and I love horses. I had many years of experience with both, not only as a teacher, but as a foster parent as well. I had horses for almost 20 years too. There are some wild stories in my books that are very close to the truth.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I pray that the readers will get a glimpse of the saving power of Christ and what a wonderful God He is. He's there for each of us in our time of need.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? Writing the books drew me closer to the Lord. Since I no longer have horses, I enjoyed reliving many special moments with my beloved horses as I wrote the Keystone Stables books.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? My greatest influence is the Lord Jesus Christ and His Word, the Bible. I enjoy reading other Christian juvenile fiction authors and Chicken Soup books. I've been encouraged greatly by Christian editors with whom I've worked.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: Romans 5:8 "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 10:9 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thoug shalt be saved."
