17-year-old Rachel takes a summer job away from home, looking for normalcy after her parents' divorce. There, she meets Australian Josiah, an older guy who lives on a religious compound near her work and they seem to have a lot in common with church, family, and a conservative lifestyle. When Rachel loses her job, she goes to live at the compound and everything seems great, until she begins to discover secrets about her new home.
