Tell us a little about yourself. I am the husband of an amazing bride and the father of four lion cubs; our little boys. We live in Nashville where I write LifeWay's Explore the Bible for students.
What was your motivation behind this project? When I was a teenager, I would read way beyond the single fragmented verse that my devotional book took out of context because it was convenient for that day's anecdote. I wanted my readers to have what I craved at their age. I wanted to take strong young men of God through entire books at a time. Books are visited in a systematic rotation and each passage is used in a systematic fashion that takes readers through a discipleship process ending with them hopefully seeing the one whom they have evangelized evangelize someone else. The fruit this approach has born in the lives of my readers has blown me away.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I hope that young men will find their strength. The world needs more strong young men of God and I hope to equip my young readers with something dangerous; the perfect Word of God saturating their hearts everyday. I hope that Scripture dwells within them richly.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? This text refined my respect for the book of Proverbs which I think of as this book's spinal chord. It was written by the wisest man of all time under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and its original purpose is still realized today; to equip young men with wisdom.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: There is supplementary content for this book along with my other books including coaching videos and mnemonic devices for evangelism training at jessethecampbell.com.
