Missy4 Stars Out Of 5Good but...November 14, 2015MissyQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0Good book full of rich information, but each "day's" challenge realistically takes months to become habit. Needs more "meat" for larger goals. A fast read, but definitely a reread over and over for the areas that are needed most in your life. With additional reading elsewhere. A good starting place if you can't quite put your finger on where you feel "off" in motherhood.

heatherm5 Stars Out Of 5need to refocus? read this book!August 5, 2015heathermQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I first heard of Arlene Pelican when she was a guest on a Focus on the Family radio broadcast. She was sharing about her book 31 Days to a Happy Husband. While I feel like I have a happy husband and am a happy wife, I was not feeling as confident in the mom department. So I was intrigued when I heard about 31 Days to Becoming a Happy Mom. While I really want to feel more happy in my role as a mom, and have my interactions with my children marked by more fun and light-heartedness, that is not the focus of this book. I love that this book is about being intentional daily, one day at a time. Not perfection but purpose. The acronym is so helpful -
Yes - filled
Happy isn't about an emotion but an intentional way of approaching and living out each day. Reading one day at a time was totally doable for me as a mom of three - something I looked forward to and gave me one thing to focus on at a time leaving me confident and not overwhelmed. This book is not a formula or magic equation, it doesn't contain any brand new ideas or philosophies. This book is full of age old wisdom Arlene has gathered from many seasoned mothers and such a good reminder of how to keep the main things the main things and let go of the rest!
