Achan steps into his role as Crown Prince and prepares for war. But war against whom? Could Esek still be alive? Has Lord Nathak taken Esek's place? Or is the mysterious Hadad the true enemy Achan must confront?
Vrell has her own agenda of serving Prince Oren as a healer, but when she is stormed and lost to the Veil, Achan does all he can to bring her back. His conversations with her are strange, though, as if she has no memory of who he is.
In a land consumed by Darkness, the fate of Er'Rets hangs in the balance as Achan endeavors to take the throne and end the reign of Darkness.

RJO5 Stars Out Of 5Wow!December 4, 2014RJOQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Jill is an amazing story master! This trilogy kept me enthralled the entire time, and From Darkness Won was just as hard to put down as By Darkness Hid, and To Darkness Fled! I'm not usually a fantasy reader, but Jill weaves such a beautiful story and wonderfully rich characters, she won me over! The spiritual aspect was such a natural thread in the story, not at all soap-boxy, nor distracting. Beautifully done!

I can't do justice to a book review of the third tale, From Darkness Won, without giving spoilers for the first two books.
Who doesn't love a rags-to-riches story? Achan Cham had been raised a lowly stray even though he was really a prince. But that's where the stereotype ends. Achan's world, Er'Rets, is a unique place filled with unique individuals and politics. Nor does the requisite love story follow normal tropes. Achan doesn't know that, as crown prince, he's betrothed to the woman he loves. Just when you think that a simple disclosure will work, the author throws a wrench in the spokes and adds new layers of difficulty.
In the first book, To Darkness Fled, Achan discovered who he was and began to cope with the magnitude of that revelation. In the second book, By Darkness Hid, Achan trains to be a warrior and leader, accumulating a loyal following. In the third volume, From Darkness Won, Achan goes to war to reclaim his throne. But Darkness is darker than he'd ever expected.
