Author Bio

Ronie Kendig is an award-winning, bestselling author who grew up an Army brat. After twenty-plus years of marriage, she and her hunky hero husband have a full life with their four children, a Maltese Menace, and a retired military working dog in Northern Virginia. Author and speaker, Ronie loves engaging readers through her Rapid-Fire Fiction. Ronie can be found at www.roniekendig.com, on Facebook (www.facebook.com/rapidfirefiction), Twitter (@roniekendig), and Goodreads (www.goodreads.com/RonieK).

Editorial Reviews

Once again, Kendig blows fans away with her action-packed military novel that includes love, romance, betrayal, death, and everything in between. Salvatore "Falcon" Russo is a dynamic and multilayered character who is intriguing to readers. As Kendig reveals more of him throughout the novel, readers are at times both sympathetic and frustrated with his choices. Fast-moving, surprising and engaging, Falcon is a must-read.

Kendig is a master storyteller with a sense of humor that is a breath of fresh air in the midst of intensity. Falcon is a must read.

In Ronie Kendig's signature style of rapid-fire fiction, Falcon is a heart-pounding adventure full of high risks, uncertain futures, and non-stop action.

Ronie Kendig brings us another inspirational military thriller in her Quiet Professionals series that moves at break-neck speed. I just could not read it fast enough.

Review on the series and this book from my blog:

Raptor 5, Hawk and Falcon are by Ronie Kendig. The books are about Special Forces members in Afghanistan doing routine missions until their communications system is compromised by the enemy. This is only brought to their attention after causalities from corrupted orders are received. On the whole, I really enjoyed the books and will probably purchase more from this author in the future. I did however find parts of Falcon confusing. Several times the author mentions that a team member is far away from the command center, but then in another paragraph or two, the member is in the room. The most confusing one was when one member was on a video chat with them, three hours away from the rest of the team, then few minutes later he walks into the room. (Maybe it's a new vehicle for our armed service men?)

Salvatore Russo or Sal or Falcon as he is known to his brothers in arms on the Special Forces Team stationed in Afghanistan is angry at the world it would seem. However, his anger is really directed at one person, Cassie Walker. Underneath the anger though are shame, guilt and anger at himself. He chooses to deal with his feelings in an unhealthy way, one that could get him discharged if discovered. He has always been intense and any mission failures seen as person failures. He is driven and completely loyal to his team. Now that Cassie is on the scene he seems more distracted. With a mole leaking sensitive information to an enemy, Daniel Jin, and further attempts on the lives of fellow soldiers, Falcon needs his focus more than ever. But Cassie reveals something she has kept from him for four years and Falcon isnt sure how he is supposed to deal with this new revelation.

Cassie Walker took this mission in Afghanistan, working for the CIA, so she could be close to Sal and hopefully receive his forgiveness. Whenever she encounters him though he is angry with her and leaves no doubt that there will never be a future for the two of them together. A friend Cassie knew ten years ago, but has kept in touch with, now is the means by which Daniel Jin can devastate the lives of servicemen and women everywhere. However, Cassie has faith in her friend, who she used to think of as closer than a sister. Has her friend really changed that much? Is she really so cold and evil? While on the trail of her friend and trying to free her from the clutches of Daniel Jin, Cassie is also worried about Sal and her feelings of love that she still has for him. Will he ever forgive her?

The plot of the story kept me guessing as to the trustworthiness of a few characters until the closing chapters. There was plenty of action, intrigue and well-developed characters. Cassie and Sal had a physical relationship in the past, which didnt work out at the time, but in the beginning of this story Sal couldnt stand to even be in the same room with her. Trust or lack thereof was a main theme in the book, and I liked how Cassie in the intervening four years apart from Sal had given her life to Christ. She trusted Him and this His plan for her life. There were some surprises in the story that made for a great conclusion. I have really enjoyed this military series from Ronie Kendig and hope she keeps writing in this genre.

Falcon continues the story of the Army Special Forces team, Raptor, in Afghanistan. When we last left them, they were under attack from an unknown source which seemed to know their every move. Their computers were being hacked into and they could not track who was to blame. A mole within their ranks is suspected, but who could it be? This installment of Raptors exploits focuses on Warrant Officer Salvatore Falcon Russo. He is doing his best to steer clear of Lieutenant Cassandra Walker, with whom he has had a previous relationship. He blames her for the death of someone close to him. Therefore, she doesnt want to tell him about the child they have together. As the story opens, their team is under attack and their commander is killed. Obviously, the team goes on the hunt for the perpetrator of the attack. Some of the team will work undercover while others go on the move. In the meantime, Lieutenant Walker, Cassie, comes back in contact with a long-time friend whom she has not seen in many years. Cassie thinks she is still the same good person she knew when she was young, but others question that she may have a darker side. As the team goes on the hunt for the force behind their attacks, Cassie and Falcon are forced to work together. Cassie, herself, is not exactly what she appears to be. As the team faces increasing attacks, they come closer to discovering who is behind this plot.

I have read all the books in the Quiet Professionals series. While it is not absolutely necessary to read the previous two books, the reader would certainly have some holes in the story. There is also a reappearance of characters from a previous book, Beowulf. Ronie Kendigs books are always action packed. One wonders how anyone survives all that action. There is a list of characters in the front of the book which would prove helpful as this book contains many characters. I, personally, was very surprised at the direction that the ending took and perhaps very sorry at who turned out to be the bad guy. The book ends with the reader anxiously anticipating the next installment.

I received this from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Ronie Kendig never disappoints! The ongoing and building story line of attacks and terrorism through her Quiet Professionals series comes to a huge crashing point in this third installment. I have been anxiously awaiting this book and could not put it down once it was in my hands! The team has been playing cat and mouse with the unknown enemy for a while now and the stakes keep getting higher. Too many close calls and losses make it the most dangerous they have seen. The author knows exactly how to keep you at the edge of your seat the whole time. This story will suck you in and take you for an exceptionally-emotional roller-coaster literary ride!! So much intrigue, danger, spies, and action!

The cast of characters have become like friends to me by this book and makes me cheer for them and cry with them as they struggle so hard to understand the betrayal and danger surrounding them. Falcon has past hurts and scars to overcome and forgive himself for and having Cassie come into his life, and his dangerous mission, throws his whole ordered life in chaos. Cassie has secrets and hurts of her own that she is trying to hide while attempting to do her job and stay alive. They are thrown together in a wild ride and nobody can predict the ending!

I highly recommend this you wont be disappointed.
