Product Description

Writer/Director Corbin Bernsen (25 Hill) presents a fun-filled family comedy starring George Newbern (Father of the Bride), Megyn Price (Rules of Engagement) and Taylor Spreitler (Days of our Lives).

Martin Taylor has no clue who his teenage daughter is dating, why his son only communicates with an electronic sign outside his bedroom door, or why his youngest child only watches religious TV. Convinced the family needs to reconnect, Martin surprises his nest with a little experiment - he locks them in their own home with no power, no heat, no running water, and absolutely no contact with the world outside! The sudden holiday staycation isn't what the Taylors had in mind for the weekend, but they'll have to team up to prove they can survive Dad's wacky mission. With a heartfelt message and some persistence, one little member of the family helps put their priorities back in the pews, because they'll need all the faith they have to get through this. Rated PG. Approx. 90 minutes.

There were a few funny parts to this movie, but I wouldn't pay more than $5 for it. The comedy was definitely for younger kids, although there was some subject matter that was more sophisticated (e.g., teen is supposedly arrested for drinking )

i really like all of Corbin Bernsen's recent films (25 hill, rust, beyond the heavens). he was born into Hollywood, but seems to have a real grip on who his Creator is and crafts his recent films with faith clearly threaded into the fabric, without getting too 'in your face'. that makes it more accessible to the searchers who are on the fence, so to speak.... the film uses humor as it's vehicle of expression, but the main message here is reconnecting family in a world where electronics, driven schedules, and social morass have divided it....the main characters are 'normal', but surrounded by off beat characters. the humor misses, especially in the opening minutes (you have to be patient as the film is slow at first). some bad acting and lack of pronunciation, balanced by some good acting. have the impression it was filmed quickly...PG for some very mild rude slapstick humor and violence...good use of music and good extra messages by Bernsen about family...the youngest girl steals the show with her cuteness-her character hungers for God, but the family has become too busy and dad consumed by life, so she finds the Lord by watching hours of Christian TV. her quoting of Scripture throughout the film is in stark contrast to the slapstick 'home alone' humor of the story and makes everyone (and hopefully the viewer) stop and think about what God is saying. some may find that disrespectful to the Word of God, but i believe it is that very contrast that Corbin Bernsen is trying to achieve.... good film, with the above things considered. a little pricey, but it costs alot to make a quality film and i don't regret paying the price.

Surely an entertaining and comedic movie, and definitely didn't have anything too inappropriate.

However once again a so called "Christian" movie with not much Christian in it, with the exception of the adorable little girl who quotes scriptures randomly throughout the movie.
