Ellie feels the need to prove that her backyard horse Dream is worthy of love and attention. After a few mishaps at school, Ellie arranges a race to showcase Dream and some other horses . . . but then Dream gets sick, and it could be very serious . . .
With all her attention focused on proving Dream's worth, Ellie lets some of her other duties slip, and then she feels guilty for asking God to heal Dream. Ellie learns about the power of prayer and casting her cares on God. She also learns the simple truth that God loves her and wants her to come to him in prayer to confess her sins and repent. In addition, she realizes that her family loves her too as they pull together to support her and Dream.
