Series: Neighbors of Lancaster County
Gregarious Rose Lehman, who's always the life of the Amish youth singings, is determined to marry the bishop's son, Reuben Byler--until the handsome Army buddy of her future brother-in-law shows up in Lancaster County. In comparison to Trevor, Reuben seems downright boring. Trevor shares Rose's sense of fun and adventure, and her easygoing disposition.
When her sister Lila's buggy is rear-ended and Lila is horribly injured, Rose finds herself with more freedom than she's ever experienced. Everyone is so concerned about Lila that no one realizes Rose is sneaking out with Trevor. Except for Reuben. But in his usual passive way, he doesn't confront her, nor does he address the situation with her Dat or anyone else in the district. Rose appreciates Reuben's discretion, but she also resents it. Part of her relishes the freedom she's found with Trevor, but the other part of her wishes Reuben would "fight" for her, as much as any Amish man would. Too late, she realizes the foolish choice she's made. Has she ruined her best chance at love, or is there another path to happiness she just hasn't seen yet?
KavRCanadaGender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Spectacular Conclusion to the Neighbors of Lancaster County seriesJune 19, 2017KavRCanadaGender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 0Book Three in the Neighbors of Lancaster County series continues with Lila and Zach's story (Amish Sweethearts) as well as focusing on Lila's sister, Rosie. While Rosie's part of the story can be enjoyed as a standalone, a reader will need to be familiar with the intricacies of all that has happened between the Lehman and the Beck families to fully appreciate Zane and Lila's portion of this book. So I'd recommend reading them in order. Plus, there's a whole contingency of secondary characters that might be hard to keep track of without the benefit of having read Amish Promises and Amish Sweethearts.
And, mercy, but the author doesn't hold back when it comes to putting her characters through the wringer! She throws them all into the refiner's fire and I squirmed and fumed and sighed as Lila and Zane and Rosie and Reuben faced untold tragedy and loss. It shattered my sensitive reader's heart time and time again. But then the author deftly put the pieces back together again as she transformed tragedy into a story of deep love and abiding grace.
ThereadmasterDavenport,IowaAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5great storyFebruary 27, 2017ThereadmasterDavenport,IowaAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I loved this book. Rose is such a great character. She thinks at first she wants to wed Reuben until her sister is injured and she must take care of her. Now she wants to spread her wings and have a rumspringa. She meets Trevor who is an Englisher and she wants to begin flirting to make Reuben jealous. How will this work out for Rose? I also really like Lila and Zane. Can they still marry even though Lila gets badly hurt in an accident. This book was very hard to put down because I had to see how each of these storylines developed. I received this book from Bethany House for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

Lest you think the Amish live a fairy tale existence of peace and harmony, with none of the worlds problems or temptations coming into their lives, think again.
Pretty Rose Lehman is about to find out just how true that is. The outgoing 18-year-old is restless, and would like Reuben Byler to declare his feelings for her. Reuben has yet to kiss her, let alone talk of marriage, despite dating awhile. When handsome Trevor arrives, he has no problem showing her she is desirable. An Englischer and former Army buddy of her future brother-in-law Zane, Trevor seems to offer the excitement and fun that the slow and steady Reuben does not.
When Roses sister Lila is in an accident, Rose finds herself thrown together with Trevor more and more often. At the same time, the normal supervision that would have been given towards Roses activities is missing because of the extra care needed for Lila. Will Rose give into the idea that spending time with a man who lavishes lots of attention on her will have no consequences on her relationship with Rueben? Are the remarks Rueben makes criticisms of her family, or are they concerns he has for Roses safety? Has Rose lived such a sheltered Amish life that she is naive when it comes to men, and possible dangerous situations?
From page one, you will instantly care about the characters in this story, and not want to put this book down until you find out what happens to them. Not only is Roses tale here, Lila and Zanes story continues in this book, too. This is the third installment in the Neighbors of Lancaster County Series. However, this story is very enjoyable in its own right, read it even if you havent read the other installmentsAmish Weddings can stand on its own. I highly recommend this 5-star book to anyone who enjoys Amish stories or well-written fiction.

Pam BurkePotosi, MOAge: 55-65Gender: Female5 Stars Out Of 5Engaging series conclusionFebruary 12, 2017Pam BurkePotosi, MOAge: 55-65Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I thought Leslie Gould was taking on quite a challenge when she began her Neighbors of Lancaster County, mixing Amish and English neighbors with a military element. But she brings together those and other conflicting plots in a very skillful way, culminating with this engaging series conclusion, Amish Weddings.
Most of the characters in this book are familiar from the previous installments, but they continue to grow and develop as their stories and circumstances change. This is not a cookie-cutter Amish romance, and there are plenty of twists and turns to keep the interest level high to the very end of the story.
Fans of Amish fiction should really enjoy Amish Weddings. I would recommend that you read the first two books in the series before this one for a more enjoyable reading experience.
Thanks to Bethany House and the author for providing a copy of this book. I was pleased to share my thoughts in this review.
KatrinaWestern KyAge: 45-54Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Amish WeddingsFebruary 6, 2017KatrinaWestern KyAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4Leslie Gould brings us the third installment in her Neighbors of Lancaster County series.
This is the first book in the series that I have read. I had no problems jumping into this series, so I would consider this a stand alone book. Of course I recommend reading the first two books,
Amish Promises and Amish Sweethearts, to get a full impact of the series.
As the story opens we are introduced to the Lehman family, who are preparing for the upcoming marriage of Lila Lehman and Zane Beck. The story primarily focuses on Rose Lehman who is Lila's sister. She is a little self-centered and judgemental. She has made up her mind to marry Reuben Byler and is frustrated that he is taking his time in proposing and needless to say patience is not one of her virtues. When her sister Lila is involved in a horrific accident suddenly Rose finds herself with more responsibilities than she could handle with trying to help with Lila's recovery and running her dad's house.
I was immediately drawn into this endearing story. The characters are both engaging and complex. I could feel their fear, joy and turmoil. Rose was not a character I loved immediately, but soon my heart was breaking for this young woman. The plot flows effortlessly with unexpected twists and turns. We see elements of faith, curiosity, forgiveness, trust, and second chances. This is a wonderful story that I would recommend to anyone.
