The books of 1 & 2 Thessalonians were written by the apostle Paul to the church at Thessalonica. It was a young church experiencing great persecution. The Thessalonian Christians needed to mature in thier faith and gain correct understanding concerning Christ's second coming. Even today there is much speculation about Christ's return, but no ones the exact date or time of this event.
