It also includes action, romance and emotions for an unforgetable read!April 5, 2015Lilians_booksFloridaAge: Under 18Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5After tackling her first mission and coming to terms with her power of empathy, Andriana discovers her first battles were only a taste of what is to come. She and her knight, Ronan, have admitted their feelings for each other, but their bonds are tested when Dri is captured by their mortal and spiritual enemySethosand his master, Keallach, emperor of Pacifica. Andriana is certain Keallach can be convinced to follow the Makers plan and join the other Remnants but in time, she must decide whether she really can pull him back to the Way, or if Sethoss web of darkness has slowly and thoroughly trapped them both forever.
Let me just say.. Oh my beautiful book. Book two was even better then book one. I can only imagine what what Season of Glory will be like. Sadly, I must wait until 2016 until I can find out😭
So Season of Wonder (book one) left off with (Minor spoilers ahead) Roniero missing, and the rest of the Remnants heading off to the island prison on Catal. This book picks up right where it left off.
I think the main message that Lisa (tha author) was trying to get through was that through your troubles and battles that you must face, you cant rely on your own strength alone. Relying only on yourself will bring defeat upon you. But if you rely on God and His powers over your own, theres nothing you cant do. This message seemed to come to me at just the right time, honestly.
But God usually works like that.
I also loved how profound the writing was, especially towards the end. It really made me stop for a second amd think about the meaning of what was said.
I must warn that this book is probably better for older teens and up. It does contain a lot more dark themes and gory parts then the first book. So if those kind of things make you flinch, this might not be the book for you.
Now on to my favorite part: Characters
I loved Andriana and her character. She was not a doll to be played with. While she cant openly kill someone, she was not about to just give up at the first sign of trouble. She fought for everything she believed in and never backed down.
I also really loved getting to know her and her character better. Throughout the book, she discovered who she was while also growing in her relationship with The Maker (AKA God).
I really love Keallach. He has so many layers yet to discover. I am really hoping that in Season of Glory, he overcomes the darkness controlling him and joins the Remnants.
I Still love Niero. I wont spoil the book for you, but lets just say he isnt who you think he is😉 That was probably the biggest plot twist of all.
THE PLOT TWIST, THOUGH.
Some familiar characters can be seen again, and a few may surprise you😏 Plus somecharacters may.. reveal themselves to you a bit.
Overall, this book is a story of finding yourself and relying on God through everything. It is very enjoyable and keeps you hanging on the edge as you get to know the characters a lot better. The darkened adds a wonderful edge to keep your attention. I can only imagine how amazing Season of Glory will be!
P.S. Thanks Lisa T. Bergren for sending me an autographed copy for reviewing purposes! You the best😋
Jonathan BryantKentuckyAge: 18-24Gender: Male4 Stars Out Of 5Book Review - Remnants: Season Of FireMarch 27, 2015Jonathan BryantKentuckyAge: 18-24Gender: MaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 3This is a review written by my younger sister, who read Remnants: Season Of Fire for BookLook Bloggers.
Remnants: Season Of Fire was a great read. The plot was very interesting, keeping my attention, and it was very well written. Remnants was a great combination of fantasy, action, and romance. There was, however, a couple of things that I didnt particularly consider necessary, but its only a matter of personal preference. Overall, Remnants: Season of Fire was a great read, and I really enjoyed it.
Julie GravesOklahomaAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5remnants: season of fireMarch 19, 2015Julie GravesOklahomaAge: 45-54Gender: femaleThe Remnants are off to save Kapriel, but first his brother Keallach is determined to change Andriana's mind about the Remnants calling. Can Dri help Keallach turn back to the Way or is he too far under Sethos's power to join his fellow Ailith?
Remnants: Season of Fire is book 2 in the Remnants series. Filled with exciting battles between good and evil, romance and a spiritual purpose I found Season of Fire to be a hard book to put down. Andriana and her Knight Ronan know that romance between them is forbidden. But their hearts are melded together in spite of their calling. Unfortunately this opens the door to the enemy to use that love against them. Keallach uses his time with Andriana to try and persuade her that the two of them would make a good team to rule over the people. He tries to sway Dri with his gift of manipulating people's feelings. Thankfully Dri is strong in her faith in the mission she and her fellow Ailith have been called to. Being an empath Andrian senses in Keallach a desire to be with his fellow Remnants, but is he somehow able to mask his true feelings and desires in order to confuse Dri?
As I said, I had a hard time putting this book down. Yet at the same time I sometimes had to put it down because I would get so tense over a battle scene or see a foreshadowing of what was to come that I would need to take a little break to regroup! I really liked how the author brought out the spiritual struggle between good and evil. Through Keallach's character the reader can see how the enemy can deceive a person into thinking they are doing the right thing. Ronan and Andriana's relationship is very strong and even beyond their Knight and Remnant status they have the bond of love. But the Maker's purpose for them comes first and they must put that love aside until their mission is complete. I'll definitely be looking forward to the next book that comes out in 2016, Remnants: Season of Glory.

I'd also like to reiterate that I loved the River of Time Series.
Just like the first book, this one is filled with non-stop, pulsating action and I found myself gripping the pages and trying to read faster! Forbidden love, a hint of romance (good and bad), a dangerous quest that's getting more dangerous - guided by the Maker, good vs evil, faith, healing, lives at risk, kidnappings, fights, attacks, swords and deaths! What more could you want? I love how Bergren makes even the mean/evil guys all hot and dreamy...sigh. I love to hate the bad guys, but I love them, too!
Many parts of this book reminded me of a few stories in the Bible and nicely used! I'm already biting my nails for the next book! Seriously! I NEED the next book!
I was lucky enough to receive and ARC for an honest review. In no way did that sway my opinion of this book. It was totally amazing! #Remnants
