This is a very thorough treatment of these three small but important books. Akin adequately covers all the important doctrines and interpretation issues. This is a great resource for the busy pastor or Sunday School teacher because Akins style is very readable and yet it is comprehensive. It is a joy to read.
Akin does a great job of presenting the conservative evangelical view of such things as: the atoning sacrifice of Christ, the fact that God is love but love is not God, why the Johannine Comma is not part of inspired Scripture, the different views on a sin that leads to death, and others. I highly recommend this commentary.
