Tell us a little about yourself. I am a retired postal worker. I have one son and 5 grandsons. I taught children's Sunday School for 20 years.
What was your motivation behind this project? For years I loved God, but had little to no victory in my life. One day in devotion time, as I read from the book of Psalms, God whispered to me: 150 days of praise. I knew He was telling me to take the book of Psalms and create a praise journal from it with 150 days of praising God. As I did, I learned how to take the Word of God and speak it out not only in praise each morning, but to speak scriptures out all day long at work. It completely changed my view of God. I began having victory in situations that had long plagued me-all by praising God each morning and keeping God's Word foremost in my mind throughout the day; and coming from my mouth!
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? Victory over Satan. We are to praise God first and foremost because He is to be glorified. But also because our praise lifts us up above the situation and brings us into a place of victory! NO ONE that I know wants to be defeated. Using the Scriptures to praise God AND to tell the devil to take a hike is wonderful!
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? This was published in 2014. I still begin my day with praise to God. And in prayer, I pray scripture over the situation I am facing. Never has God let me down! Everyone will have struggles in this life. But if God is inside you, then why should you be defeated?
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? Ken and Gloria Copeland have long been my source of spiritual parenthood. They reveal that God wants good for us. And anyone who takes up the Word the proper way will defeat the devil in his/her own life! ANYONE.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: Don't just read this devotional once. Keep praise as a daily thing for the rest of your life. When I get to the 150th day, I begin over; and have for 4 years since it was published. It will increase your victory, love for God, and joy for life!
