Peer pressure, bullying, dating, sex, drugs, alcohol and other insecurities children face during their teenage years. There are several characters in the book and each one is facing a different challenge that could be life altering. Some of the characters are Christians and some are not. It is interesting to see how their backgrounds influence each other, sometimes in a good way and sometimes in a bad way. This first book of the series introduces the Gospel in a unique way that gives hope in an unstable world.

Tell us a little about yourself. Stacy is the Director of Operations at JBG Educational Group, a company of about thirty educators who work closely with young adults and their families on everything under the academic blanket. In addition to tutoring, college consulting, educational advocacy, life coaching, and academic coaching, Stacy specializes in working with troubled youth. JBG Educational Group counsels families, as well as works in conjunction with students therapists, doctors, and school systems. As Director of Operations, Stacy manages every operation within the company. Each week, she spends 25 hours with students, on a personal, one-on-one basis. As a college consultant, tutor, advocate, and academic coach, Stacy serves as a mentor to her studentsage twelve to eighteenand guides them through not only academic, but also social and emotional hardships. Stacy wrote the Montgomery Lake High series in the hopes of preparing teens to face the war zone that is high school-to help kids deal with the stress and peer pressure, and to encourage them to steer a straight path, pursue God, and not fall for the false promises of the world. Stacy, a native of Pembroke, Massachusetts, has completed five of the books in the Montgomery Lake High series. She is also the youth group leader at New Hope Chapel and the facilitator of a young adults bible study.
What was your motivation behind this project? While growing up, I read a few different book series that painted pictures in my mind of what high school would be like. Just after turning 14, I walked through the doors of high school and quickly realized it was nothing like what I had read; rather, it was a war-zone! I decided that pre-teens and teens needed realistic books to read that wrestled with the battles of social acceptance, substance abuse, and other sensitive issues. It is my hope that these books will help prepare pre-teens and teens for high schoolthe peer pressure, temptations, and harsh battle between gaining social acceptance and discovering who you are.
