nkwbookreviewer4 Stars Out Of 5Downton Abbey fans will love this Christian romantic mysterySeptember 2, 2016nkwbookreviewerQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4The Lost Heiress by author Rosanna M. White is Book One in her Ladies of the Manor series. It is a 448 page paperback novel published by Bethany House Publishers. This Christian historical romance has a beautiful cover featuring a lovely woman in an ecru dress with pearls. It is set in the Edwardian period of 1910 and is a great book for Downton Abbey fans as well as English romance lovers.
This was the story of Brook Eden and is filled with intrigue, mystery, romance, glamour, history, and inspiration by trusting in God. Brook's mother died in an accident when Brook was young, and Brook never went to live with her father but never knew why. At eighteen year old Brook learns she is the Baroness of Berkeley and decides to travel to England to meet her father. She has questions she wants answered. Her father is very loving and certain that she is his lost daughter, but some family members and even servants do not believe it. They have been scammed by others pretending to be the lost heiress. Brook is accompanied to England by childhood friend, Justin Wildon. He is a nobleman, the Duke of Stafford. The relationship he has with Brook is a rocky one at times.
The author has a nice writing style. Her characters are well defined. There are so many characters she has listed them and their relationships to aid readers. Her descriptions are on point. I could imagine the scenery, people, and everything quite well. This was an elegant mystery with inspirational messages of faith, trust, priorities, love, and greed. The author had a well thought plot, nice dialogue that flowed smoothly, and enough suspense and mystery to keep readers guessing.
I enjoyed this book very much and would definitely recommend it. I rated it 4 out of 5 stars. I received a copy of this book from The Book Club Network in exchange for my honest review.

By Roseanna M. White
Brook Eden has only ever wanted to belong. And when a recently discovered letter hints at where to start looking her dearest friend Justin Wildon undertakes the mission for her. Uncovering the truth of who Brook is the perfect gift Justin can give her.
But good news is mixed with tragedy for both Brook and Justin as they leave Monaco behind for Yorkshire. A mysterious tragedy tore Brook from the arms of her family and now her return is looked upon with suspicion.
As Brook settles into this new and unknown life Justin must settle into his new role as he deals with a long hidden family secret. Will these new roles drive these two close friends apart or lead them to something more than friendship? As the Baroness of Berkeley, Brook has suddenly become the most sought after lady of the season, but what does she want?
All too soon dances and dresses are the last thing on Brook's mind when the mystery surrounding her mother's death comes for her. Will the long lost heiress soon be another tragedy? Or will those closest to her thwart the evil that seeks her?
Historical fiction with a generous dash of mystery and romance will appeal to many readers. And at times you'll feel like giving both Brook and Justin a good hard shake.
I was provided a copy of this book through TBCN/BookFun in exchange for my honest review.

But, within a very short time, it grabbed me and compelled me to keep reading "just one more chapter." I liked the fact that it was more than a love story or an historic period peace. It has mystery, suspense, love, hate and all the good and bad characters that make a book interesting. I'm looking forward to reading another one of Roseanna White's books.

I absolutely loved it. I had never read a book by Roseanna White but the book was enthralling immediately. Short summary without giving away too many details...Elizabeth discovers that her real dad is a nobleman and her life drastically changes. She has to overcome doubts from people in society, changes in her friendship to Justin, and newfound love for her father. Mystery and danger cloud the situation as they work out the details surrounding why she was separated from her family to begin with. I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

ShannahAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Beautiful, Intriguing Story!April 29, 2016ShannahAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Let me start off by saying that Roseanna M. White is DEFINITELY going to be added to my list of ALL TIME FAVORITE authors. I literally could not put this book down. This book had it all: humor, romance, intrigue, and an engaging plot with a whole lot of layers. I really enjoyed the emotional roller coaster this story took me on. From the moment Brook is "found," the suspense begins.
I fell in love with Justin and Brook immediately. Their playful banter, their spark that both ignored for the wrong reasons, their arguments that had me wanting to shake them both had me hooked from the start. Elizabeth Brook Eden is such a complex character. Her independent, fiery spirit contrasts with her sense of being lost and her fear of loving and losing. She has many facets to her personality because of her past and she is able to carry herself in almost any situation. It also amused me greatly when she would get so mad she lapsed into a different language! Justin, oh Justin. I loved his fierce loyalty to his family and Brook. His protective and cautious nature are at times endearing and frustrating. My favorite "layer" of the story was watching Brook find out who she truly was and embracing it, then watching Justin and Brook figure out how to navigate their feelings for each other in Brook's new reality. Just mesmerizing and beautiful!
The battle of good vs. evil, greed vs. generosity was evident throughout the story. It amazed me that certain characters actions represented well these facets of the human nature. Watching Brook and Justin grow in their faith because of the trials they endured was beautiful and encouraging. One of my favorite characters was Lord Worthing. Besides the fact that he was charming and good humored by nature, his insight because of his faith was uncanny. He represented, to me, what a true Christian should look like.
Overall, I can't say enough great things about this beautiful story. Go out and get your copy today! Trust me, you won't regret it.

Tell us a little about yourself. I'm a homeschooling mom, historical author, editor at WhiteFire Publishing, cover designer, and blatant neglector of housekeeping.
What was your motivation behind this project? When I was 12, I decided I was going to write a book. I sat down with a story of a girl who thought she was a princess, but who then learned she was actually English...and that the secrets of her parents' death was hidden in something she'd had with her all these years. I finished the story when I was 13 and promptly sent it out to my dream publisher, Bethany House. Who shockingly turned it down. Fast-forward 20 years, and I've rewritten, retitled, and re-set this story about a gazillion times...but the heart has remained the same. And on my third pitch to Bethany House, they bought it. The Lost Heiress is my tenth published novel but my first ever book, and I am beyond thrilled that it's finally out--and from the first publisher I ever submitted it to!
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? Family is the key to this story, and what it really means to find yourself in a world that would have you follow a certain code. I hope that through this story, readers realize along with the characters that it isn't about your station in life--it's about what's in your heart.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? The growth of this story in many ways follows my growth as a person and a writer. I love the fact that I started it in my most awkward time of life, and that now the final version is written when I'm established in the life I always dreamed of. My heroine started out as the ideal of what I wanted to be...and now she's a combination of old dreams and newer realizations.
