danielleIdaho5 Stars Out Of 5Oh man!!!! Sooo impressed!!!!June 23, 2012danielleIdahoQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I'm soooo happy that Bryan Davis has started writing another series that follows Dragons in our Midst and Oracles of Fire!!! I have already read Song of the Ovulum twice as I wait impatiently for the next book to be published! Words can't describe how thrilled I was when I finally met Bonnie, Billy, Walter, Ashley, Sapphira, Elam, and all the awesome dragons again, along with some new characters that I have quickly fallen in love with!!!! This book made me laugh and cry as I, once again, read about how anything is possible when God is on our side, and how we can overcome and go through any trial as long as he is with us. My favorite character ever, Bonnie, is a true inspiration because of her amazing faith and courage that she displays while going through horrible circumstances. This book is recommended to ANYONE, especially those who adore adrenaline-laced plots with nonstop action and characters who inspire you and build your faith! Oh, and do yourself a favor by reading the two series that come before Children of the Bard first :)

DovewingsAge: Under 18Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5An Amazing Addition - Totally Worth Waiting ForJuly 26, 2011DovewingsAge: Under 18Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Wow. And we thought this series was over. I can't imagine it without "Song of the Ovulum" anymore. It was a perfect addition: filled with the same action, suspense, high stakes, and unshakable faith as the first eight. From "Raising Dragons" through "The Bones of Makaidos", we have been growing to know and love Billy, Bonnie, Walter, Ashley, and all their friends. This book not only brought back nearly all the familiar faces, it introduced still more characters just as captivated and endearing as the originals. The stakes seemed so high, I often found myself thinking that there was no possible way out this time, but I was again proven wrong. Dragons, at least those that serve the Lord, really can take on almost anything. From the days of the flood, all the way to the stormy world relations with Second Eden, Mr. Davis has shown his amazing skill in weaving memorable characters into fantastical worlds where anything and everything might happen: plants may turn to people, voices may be stolen and returned, and songs of mercy have power incomprehensible. For those of you who thought the ride was over with "The Bones of Makaidos": Buckle your seat belts and get ready to dive in even farther, because you ain't seen nothin' yet.

And it was awesome. I had a hard time putting it down. After opening the box, the book held my attention for the next 7 hours (it was on a Saturday). The story definitely lived up to my expectation; it was very exciting and suspenseful. It also makes me look forward to future books by Davis. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys fiction/fantasy.
Dancing Oracle5 Stars Out Of 5The Story Continues!July 20, 2011Dancing OracleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5On August 23, 2010, I learned that Bryan Davis was officially going to begin work on his new series to follow the story of Dragons In Our Midst and Oracles of Fire. When I finally began reading Song of the Ovulum, my heart began racing with excitement. I found so much delight in seeing the old characters I love return to the written world in yet another masterful story. New characters as well joined in the adventure, and I was eager to get to know them as they partook in this quest for good to triumph. From the first page, the story drew me in. As the plot continued to unfold I was laughing and crying, anxious to find what part all characters would take in this new series. Song of the Ovulum left me enthralled with its story, but still eagerly looking forward to the next addition. It was filled with the qualities of friendship, sacrifice, and God's love. Children of the Bard is off to an amazing start, and my high expectations were not only fulfilled, but exceeded as I read the first volume in this series. I am delighted by Song of the Ovulum, and overjoyed with the opportunity to continue this journey even more!
