Product Description

Life among Christians can be great. But it can also be exasperating! The joys of fellowship in Christ too often give way to division and debate. You may find yourself drawn into arguments over such things as the correct form of worship or the proper role of charismatic gifts. Perhaps you wonder, Why don't we get along together as we should? Or How can we recapture the unity of the early church? Surprisingly, the first Christian believers didn't always live in harmony either! As Paul Stevens and Dan Williams lead you through this study of 1 Corinthians, you will see that the issues facing the Corinthian church are little different from the ones your church struggles with year after year. Here in 1 Corinthians is a portrait of Christian community not as it was meant to be, but as it often really is. But here too is practical advice for overcoming the challenges of life together. 13 studies for individuals or groups.

Our senior women's Bible Study group likes to tackle tough subjects, but everyone agreed that this study was very tough! The letter Paul wrote to the Corinthian Church was full of advice and changes that needed to be made in order for them to begin to grow and mature as Christians. He didn't mince many words! Tough advice that our Churches need today, but sometimes hard to hear! This study is not for the faint of heart and completing it was challenging. Most felt like they learned a lot so were glad we tackled it! If you decide to use it be prepared to spend much time in prayer and study. Outside resources will be needed.

Our Ladies' Bible Study has completed the first lesson and enjoyed it very much. I found the Leader's notes in this study guide especially helpful.

This was the first time using this study to lead our group (men/women, mostly couples (married and dating), a few singles). We tried to tackle 1 Corinthians on our own and did a pretty good job. When we found this study it asked similar questions that we were coming up with and saved us a lot of work allowing us to focus on prayer and buildling the group up. 1 Corinthians for a small group is not for the faint of heart. Some real meaty topics that people tend to avoid. It really focused on how to live as a community in Christ. It offered real practical application. I saw real growth and transparency in our group through this study. I highly recommend the chapter and this study guide!
