Publisher's Description

Kendig Ratchets Up the Action in Her New Suspense Series!

Four years after a tragic mission decimated his career and his team, Cole "Tox" Russell is persona non grata to the United States. And that's fine--he just wants to be left alone. But when a dormant, centuries-old disease is unleashed, Tox is lured back into action.

Partnered with FBI agent Kasey Cortes, Tox has to pull together a team to begin a globe-spanning search for answers--and a cure. As their quest leads them from continent to continent, it slowly becomes clear they're not just fighting a plague--but battling against an ancient secret society whose true goals remain hidden.

With time running out and opposition growing on every side, the key to everything may rest in an antique codex, the Crown of Jerusalem--but will Tox and his team be able to trust each other enough to break this century-spanning conspiracy of silence?

Kendig delivers every timemilitary action, archaelogical mystery, a deadly virus, leads to a race around the world! EXCELLENT!

I always know Kendig will catch me and keep me enthralled through the entire book. Conspiracy of Silence met every expectation. It had military suspense, Jason Bourne style, meets Indiana Jones, archaeology mystery, with a touch of romance. It took me to different parts of the world and made history come alive. It's important to read the prequel "The Warrior's Seal" to gain more of an understanding of this book. It is a quick, action-packed read and really brings this book to life.

Special Forces, Cole "Tox" Russell is pulled back into action after a tragic mission went wrong. Kasey Cortez steps in as an FBI deception expert and Tzivia Khalon is the archaeologist needed to find answers and a cure for a potentially worldwide epidemic. Can they work together and fast enough to stop this plague?

Jason Bourne meets Indiana Jones in this military, history comes to life novel. Archaeology meets modern-day world in this race to figure out a conspiracy of silence that could end the world.

I'm not giving anything away, but this is excellent for male & female readers!

I bought this book for a gift, ebook and also received a complimentary copy from Bethany House. My honest review is THIS IS A MUST READ! I also appreciate Kendig's high respect of our military and veterans. Thank you, Ms. Kendig.

There are so many things I could say about this book. It has 400+ pages and hours of my life were spent between those pages, immersed in a story so compelling I found myself glancing up every so often, making sure I wasnt in [insert country] with the team, chasing down leads and running for my life. Ive found few authors that can hold my attention the way Ronie Kendig always does, even on the second and third rereads. Her stories practically demand my undivided attention, because otherwise, Ill be turning back the pages in a matter of moments, trying to figure out what I missed and how on Earth they ended up there. This story moves so quickly that the both the characters and I were struggling to get our bearings and catch our breath. If you pick up this book expecting to find a quick, light read, dont. This story is hard, sometimes its dark, with the realities of war, and it goes by so quickly that you may find yourself looking back and trying to figure out how youre already halfway through and you just blinked. This book most definitely met and majorly exceeded my expectations!

As already noted, Ms. Kendigs books always keep me on the edge of my seat and if I were to try to give a reason why, I wouldnt have one beyond simply her writing. There is something about it that I find so compelling and that draws me in again and again. She undeniably knows how to do suspense and she does it on a whole new level. The twists and turns of this story often left me hurrying to catch up with the newest bend and then quick as a blink, it would change, again. And she does it in a way that comes across as believable. Some things do touch the side of outlandish here and there, but even the characters agreed. There are several controversial topics touched on and argued about throughout the story and I appreciated how honest the conversations they have are: the fear, doubt, questions, and in the end faith, carry weight and emotion in a story that moves so rapidly I wonder that theres a moment to breathe. I was pulled in so thoroughly from the very first chapter that by the time I turned the final page, I felt as though I had taken the journey with them - questions, doubts, bullets, arrows, wisecracks, black eyes, unknowns and all.

One thing that sets this book apart from Ms. Kendigs previous books is the characters. This book doesnt so much focus on one particular character and their story, but more the team as a whole and the events taking place. I confess to being a little confused in the beginning of the story, as I tried to make each character fit into a specific role, then finding that didnt work. Cole Tox Russel is a main character, but so are Kasey Cortes and Tzivia Khalon, and really the team as a whole. I wanted them to each fit in the usual boxes: hero, heroine, best friend, villain, character whos book comes next, and so forth. But these characters just refused to fit the mold and I found myself having to readjust my thinking. I did really love the dynamics of the team: Cell with his sarcasm, Ram with his connections, Kasey learning where she fits, Chiji the calming presence. There are a couple team members that I didnt get to know as well, so Im definitely going to be rereading this book for that, but also to catch all of the threads that didnt connect the first time around or that I flat out missed because I was rushing to find out what would happen next.

I do have to add that if you have the opportunity, I would highly recommend reading the prequel novella that takes place a few years before this book. It fills in a few otherwise gray areas and gives an extra layer of detail. It isnt a must and doesnt directly tie in, though events that happen in it are referenced a few times here and there.

Overall, I immensely enjoyed this book and will most likely be found rereading it the first chance I get.

My thanks to the publisher for my complimentary copy of this book! I was not required to write a positive review and have not been compensated for it in any way. All opinions expressed are my own.

Oh my where to start? My heart is still pounding from the adrenaline rush I just experienced reading this book. The action is top notch and the underlying threats are so vivid I could feel the country start to tighten their reins in other countries. What if you were the most elite black ops soldier around? You are named Tox and you have been called in to do the most dangerous mission ever and your team is ready to go. I can hear Tox commanding his team to be on hyper alert and to have each other's back. The author writes such descriptive scenes that I am felt like I was tagging along on the mission.

Did I mention that Tox is not really alive? Oh that is just a minor detail that the rest of the world believes. He is like the skilled assassin that slips in without a sound and disappears before he is even noticed. As he takes this mission he runs into walls everywhere. Is he really backed by the president? Why are there so many unanswered questions about the mission? The author keeps readers riveted to the story with secrets, links to a group that could be dangerous and a spiritual battle of the highest caliber

Get ready for characters that grab your attention with their diverse personalities and a story so powerful you will feel your heart pounding as you turn the pages as quick as you can. This is a must read for fans that love intrigue, danger and epic challenges . Grab a copy and get ready for battle.

I received a copy of this book from the author and Bethany House Publishing. The review is my own opinion and I was not compensated for it.

Whelp, she done gone and done it again!

Excellent (amazing, fantastic, all those adjectives) start to a brand new series by author Ronie Kendig! Ive been a fan for a long time, and have found that her books just get better and more intense the longer she writes. Conspiracy of Silence has taken all the high points of her previous books and put them together into a tale that will leave you holding your breath for most of it.

Provided youve read the prequel novella, The Warriors Seal, we pick up the story three years after that one ends. Cole Tox Russell has been disavowed by the United Statesand he prefers it that way. But when hes dragged back onto American soil by a new threat of global proportions, his team is brought back together to fight against the threat of a centuries-old plague.

Joining the story is Kasey Cortes, a childhood friend of Tox, as an FBI deception expert (she knows when youre lying!) Even with no field training under her belt, she gets tossed into the mix, hopping with the team from Jordan to India to England to Syria, helping where she can, and dodging bullets where she can.

Also showing up from TWS are Tzivia Khalon and Dr. Cathey, who together provide the Dan Brown aspect of the book, if you will. They bring the history, archaeology, and lets face it theyre kind of to blame for the whole plague becoming an issue. Whats an archaeologist to do? Team up with a black ops team from America and find the cure, of course!

There is so much in this book that I could write a whole other one just to tell you about it. Theres adventure, intrigue, action, and a hint of romance between heroes Cole and Kasey. Theres the snarkiness of Purcell Cell, a member of Russells team, and strange, shadowy characters ducking in and out of the drama. And every good action story needs a deformed villain in thereMs. Kendig has delivered there, too! Theres even a fun poke at fellow Christian author Lynnette Eason! But you have to go find it on your own

All told, this whole book will leave you laughing, not breathing, on edge, and wanting to go on to the next book immediately. Well done, Ms. Kendig!

Basically, what Im trying to say hereBuy this book. Read this book. You will love it.

Each time I open the newest release by Ronie Kendig, part of me wonders how she can possibly come up with something to top her previous novel. I still don't know how she manages it, but Conspiracy of Silence stands apart as her most intense and action-backed offering to date! Kendig charts new territory as she taps into ancient history, expanding the Special Forces team's mission into a battle that transcends modern weaponry. This is not a book to be read casually, a chapter at a time. In fact, I recommend taking a deep breath before you start because you might not take another before the final page is turned! Dodging bullets and racing for helos are just a few of the dangers the team faces. Hearts are also on the line, and Kendig excels at creating romantic tension with her rapid-fire dialogue and expertly crafted scenes. Lovers of Kendig's A Breed Apart series will delight in the team's use of a military working dog on their mission. A perfect gift, this novel comes in just the right size for any book lover on your list. A Conspiracy of Silence is so, so good; in fact, I'd say it's a bit inTOXcating!
