    This book was easy to follow with an interesting story line. General Review;

    Liked how author kept us in the edge of our seat. Romance was also good and the disturbing current events make it feel real. Favorite part was how GOD and prayer was mentioned. Excellent read. Look forward to teading more of her books:

    Lynette Eason is a gifted storyteller of fast-paced, adrenaline-filled romantic suspense stories with tons of surprises and twists to the plot. She kicks off her newest series with Brooke, an Army psychiatrist discharged after a bombing in Afghanistan, and Asher, a special ops soldier who leaves the Army after a similarly traumatic incident. Stateside, Asher looks up Brooke for help with PTSD but ends up being her protector as strange and deadly events swirl around Brooke. Out-of-place activities within an orphanage in Afghanistan along with a grave of unmarked bodies seem like disconnected subplots as Brooke and Asher fight to stay alive and figure out why someone is targeting them but all of the pieces masterfully come together in the end to leave you shocked and gasping at what unfolds. The cast of characters is large but it's the first book in the series that needs to lay down the groundwork for the following books by introducing all the people who will play major roles in future books. The characters are all quite unique so you won't have trouble keeping track of who is who.

    If you love romantic suspense, you need to read this book.

    Whoa!

    Just...

    Whoa!

    I think one of the things that strikes me most about this novel is way the author paced out the plot. It starts out kinda scattered -- a group of soldiers in Afghanistan, a group of female friends with a mix of military and civilian jobs on the same base and then it moves state side with the introduction of more key players. Everything seems disjointed and a bit confusing. (I actually jotted down character names and occupations to keep it all straight as I read on.) And then Eason starts to pull these seemingly random threads together ever so slowly and deliberately, giving me time to start connecting dots until I thought I knew where it was all heading.

    Ha! I was so wrong! But I rallied and shifted my armchair sleuthing a bit until I finally figured it out. Did I get it right? Partially. Until the moment I reached the stomach heaving, heart flipping part and then I literally screamed out loud and closed the book and stared stupidly into space for a few minutes (not too long because I couldn't leave Asher and Brooke in that predicament.) But, honestly, Lynette Eason actually stunned me readerless for a moment in time. That hasn't ever happened before! :-)

    And that's all I'm going to say about Collateral Damage except if you love romantic suspense, you need to read it ASAP. And, yay, it's the first in a new series -- Danger Never Sleeps -- so there will be more harrowing tales to rattle my senses in the (hopefully) near future!

    Ooh the action packed into this story! Lynette Eason starts her new series off right with a high octane adrenaline pumping adventure! This story focuses on Brooke and Asher two veterans tied together by a recent tragedy. Both are suffering from PTSD which brings them together a second time. The bad guys are involved in a truly disgusting and heartbreaking crime and I honestly wasnt sure who to trust until the very end. If youre a fan of military thrillers or romantic suspense and authors like Ronie Kendig and Dani Pettrey youll definitely want to read this one! I cannot wait for book two and in the meantime Ill be catching up on some of Easons previous series.

    I received a copy of this novel from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

    This is book one in the Danger Never Sleeps series. I can't wait to read more. The book is full of action, suspense, mystery, romance and so much more. It would make a great movie.

    I loved Brooke and Asher, both have fun personalities with PTSD to deal with. There is a lot going on in the book. Asher must try to keep Brooke safe while trying to solve a crime. I love their friendship with each other and others in this book. I look forward to reading more from this series. I enjoyed many of the characters in this book, the author has done her research and does a great job with her description and dialogue.
