At this point in her life, bravery is not a trait Willa Hart would readily claim. She believes her seven-year-old daughter, Savannah, who never knew her father and successfully tackled chemotherapy, is truly the courageous one. Yet after Willa has a fateful encounter with handsome young doctor Patrick McCade, her outlook, and her view of herself, begins to change.
Patrick, a thrill-seeking world traveler and temporary resident of Lenox, Oregon, sets out to show Willa the value of adventure, even within her tiny town. But just when their friendship shows signs of turning into something more, Patrick's life as a traveling doctor calls him back. Will his last days in town signal the end of their journey, or will Patrick and Willa find the courage to transform a single season into a lifetime?

KavRCanadaGender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Fantastic!July 11, 2016KavRCanadaGender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5So, it's official, I have a new go-to author after reading this entrancing story. I was plummeted into Willa's angst from the very first page -- and Willa is the queen of angst. With good reason. She's had to deal with multiple major tragedies in her life, not the least of which was nursing her daughter through cancer. Deese manages to capture every emotional nuance and I was tied up in knots for most of the read. Because while little Savannah is all set to live life big, Willa is still clinging to the safety of control.
Patrick is all about seizing the moment -- not looking back or too far ahead. He's done amazing things in his life and intends to do many more. And I might just need to mention right here and now that he is a seriously droolworthy hero. Phew! Not quite sure I can even articulate just why he makes me weak in the knees...I think it's better if you discover him for yourself. And be prepared to enjoy the journey!
The romance is...indescribably sublime. Excuse me as I begin fanning myself as I recollect their charged encounters. Friendship with undercurrents of something much deeper. Goodness, but this story zings. You'll feel alive, refreshed and ready to conquer your greatest fear by the time you reach the end. (Which comes all too soon, I might add.)
We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps. Proverbs 16:9 I love the way the author embraces this bit of biblical wisdom in A Season to Love. It's repeated over and over again in varying ways with not only the hero and heroine, but with secondary characters as well. It really made an impact on me.
And for readers who are already fans of this series -- you'll be happy to note that Weston and Georgia play a prominent role in this one. I'm deliciously intrigued by the chemistry between these two so I'll definitely be hunting down a copy of A Clich Christmas.
SusanClover, SCAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Wonderful!!!!April 19, 2016SusanClover, SCAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I read the first book in this series and bought this one a few months ago. I got around to reading it and finished this morning. I loved every minute! Nicole Deese has some serious talent. She is quite descriptive of her places, so much so that the reader feels a part of the surroundings. She also crafts characters that seem real, even all the secondary ones!
This book is Christian fiction and the spiritual element really ministered to me. Anyone who ever deals with fear should read this book. When we walk in fear, we leave faith by the wayside. It's not God's best for us, but it's so hard to let go sometimes. This book explores that situation in depth and it truly is helpful.
I certainly hope Nicole has more in this town because I've grown to love it! Highly recommend this one.

It reminded me that as you embrace change rather than resist it, you are evolving into something beautiful.
We meet Willa and Patrick who are very lovable characters that easily weave their way into your heart. Willa has been a single mother for the past 7 years after the death of her husband. Willa's daughter, Savannah, is recovering from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Willa took her in for a check up when abnormalities were noticed that lead to her diagnosis. Willa has learned that not only does life come with no guarantees, but also when you least expect it bad news can bring you to the point of breaking.
Patrick has been taking short-term projects world wild for nonprofit organizations during natural dissasters and epidemic outbreaks, but has recently arrived in Lennox to take over his dad's practice while he takes a vacation to Scotland. His first meeting with Willa doesn't go very well when she calls in to questions his ability to care for her child.
This story is about learning to trust both in yourself and to some extent others. Mostly it's about letting go and having faith that God will see you through your difficult times. He doesn't promise us that we wouldn't have problems, but that during our problems he would be with us every step of the way. We just have to have faith and trust in him. This is a very sweet plot that flows effortlessly. The endearing characters engaged me from page one.
I would recommend this wonderful story to anyone.
Nicole Deese is a new author for me, but one I will definitely be following.
I received this book from the publisher via NetGalley for a honest opinion. I was not required to write a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Rebecca ManeyGastonia, North CarolinaAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Beautifully Written Story!March 2, 2016Rebecca ManeyGastonia, North CarolinaAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Willa Hart is trapped; paralyzed within a carefully maintained cage of fear; maximized by the fact that she can see out and that others can see in; glimpsing the lovely widow who cannot seem to find a way to move on with her life. Her young daughter Savannah has finally been pronounced cancer free and Willa has promised her that they will start living a "normal" life; a life that Willa cannot seem to define or have any idea of how to begin, until providence lands the two of them in the office of the seemingly inescapable Doctor Patrick McCade.
Patrick's life is anything but normal, he travels the world injecting his medical expertise throughout some of the most dangerous, remote areas on the face of the earth. While temporarily settling in Lenox, Oregon to fill in for the town's beloved physician, the elder Doctor McCade, he promptly meets the enigmatic Willa Hart. Intrigued, Patrick cautiously and patiently introduces Willa to opportunities; opportunities to exercise her fragile freedom of choice and opportunities to rediscover the joy of living. It's only as Patrick's departure date draws increasingly near, that the two friends become painfully aware that separation is inevitable and a broken heart is almost certainly the consolation prize.
This is not only a beautifully written romance, it's an outstanding story of faith over fear, love over loneliness, and risk over routine. Enjoy every page of "A Season to Love".
