Paul4 Stars Out Of 5Thorough and insightfulNovember 8, 2011PaulQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4House, while not stressing the more critical areas relating to Kings, has written an excellent work from a theological standpoint. While he is not high in analysis, he is on application, which is one thing for which I read commentaries.

Ancient WandererLouisianaAge: 55-65Gender: male4 Stars Out Of 5Basic support of the text as scriptural.October 3, 2014Ancient WandererLouisianaAge: 55-65Gender: maleQuality: 4Value: 3Meets Expectations: 3This commentary is very very basic. The author deals mainly with the authenticity of the book and scripture- which is needed -but there is very little word study. There is a good deal of arguing with (both in agreement and disagreement) C.F. Keil's "I and II Kings". Mr. House has put the time in with a good deal of reading and studying for the commentary, as the footnotes attest, but it still not an 'in depth' study of these two books. Over all a good reference as he has accomplished a lot of reading for you.
