Explore Yosemite and Zion National Parks with Noah Justice: Episode 4 DVD, Awesome Science Series
Great Reinforcement for a Biblical Worldview
We are so inundated with "millions of years" and evolution in this world, that it can be difficult for a parent who does not believe that to find resources to teach their children that there is, in fact, scientific evidence that backs up the biblical account of a literal 7 day creation and rest period and of a worldwide flood.
This series created by his father, Kyle Justice who has produced videos that have appeared on many channels including National Geographic.
In this episode, your friendly field guide, Noah Justice (the son of Kyle Justice) leads us on a journey through two of America's most visited natural attractions, Yosemite and Zion National Parks.
Using stunning cinematic photography and narratives, you will receive a brief overview of the history of the park like when it was first set aside by Abraham Lincoln in 1864 and later adopted into the national park system.
Starting with the flaws in relying solely on radio isotope dating and uniformitarianism to measure time, Noah explains how it is easy to marry a young earth with the formation of the Sierras and the igneous rock. Also focusing on how a catastrophic flood could permanently and greatly change the earth's landscape, including speeding up the decay rate of natural elements. scientific evidence is presented to back up the biblical account. He further explains how while glaciers and an Ice Age could definitely have cut the valley initially, it is unlikely that the Merced River really eroded the valley to its current state by showing evidence that a massive water erosion aligns more with scientific evidence.
We particularly enjoy that the video employs Scripture, providing references and verses right on the screen during the presentation. My two older children like Noah (and his hat!) and were really enthralled with the video, especially my 7 year old.

Covers radio halos and the ice age
Explore Yosemite and Zion National Parks is episode 4 in the Awesome Science series. Yosemite National Park is filled with granite cliffs, huge rocks, and a gigantic valley. Zion Canyon has huge sandstone layers, arches, hanging valleys, and steep canyon walls. Both sites have plenty of features for geological study.
This episode covers the geologic features of both sites and analyzing them scientifically, such as steep canyon walls that show water erosion and curved canyon walls show glacial erosion. There are plenty of pictures to go along with the science.
This episode goes into great detail of radiohalos and how they show that granite was formed quickly rather than over millions of years. It also shows how this ties in with problems with dating methods using Uranium 238.
It also covers the ice age, showing that instead of many smaller ice ages that the evolutionists believe, there was one large ice age after the flood of Noah. It shows how the flood best explains the geological features of Yosemite and Zion National Parks.
The study guide covers the key concepts from the DVD and includes activities such as fill in the blank, order the events, true/false, and Bible study bonus activities.
I like the Awesome Science series and this is another great episode that teaches more understandable science in 30 minutes than most DVDs do in 2 hours. I recommend Awesome Science Explore Yosemite and Zion National Parks DVD with Study Guide for anyone interested in Creation science. It is a great teaching tool for homeschool and laymen.
New Leaf Publishing provided this DVD and study guide free for review. I was not required to give a positive review- only an honest review.

Great Science Supplement
We use this video as a supplement to our homeschool. My kids love these videos. The Awesome Science series is very well made, and packed with information. You need to watch them several times for the kids to grasp all the information packed into a 30 minute session. So, I would suggest purchasing the videos rather than renting them.
These are a great supplement to teach on creation.

This is episode 4 of the new season of Awesome Science with Noah Justice. This is the second episode that we have watched together as a family. I have always wanted to visit Yosemite so I found this extremely interesting. There was a few more science terms in this episode then in the one we watched about Mount St. Helens and my younger kids were a bit lost. This would be perfect for kids 8 and up all the way to adult. I really found it interesting when they were showing the chemistry of the granite rock. I have studied half life a little in the past and so I really enjoyed learning about this from a biblical not secular point of view.
The Awesome Science videos are great for those who home school, youth groups, and Sunday school classes. I really think they are great for those of us who send our children to public school too that way our kids will be ready to argue their beliefs. Having a foundation of research and facts can really make you much more confident in sharing your beliefs with others. I want to give these tools to my kids that way when they are faced with false teachings they are equipped to recognize them. I think the Awesome Science DVD's are a terrific way to do so!
I was given this DVD for free in exchange for my honest opinion~
