When God gave Susan Bordenkircher the vision for her yoga-based Christian ministry, Outstretched in Worship, she truly believed she was stepping into uncharted territory. And while God has used her ministry as a pioneer of sorts in this movement, she was amazed to see the level of interest and involvement that already existed. She quickly learned that there are approximately 15 million people in this country practicing yoga, and fully 50-60 percent of them say they come from a church background. In fact, many churches, Christian retreats, and denominational conventions are incorporating yoga as one creative approach to cultivating a quiet, receptive spirit and deep prayer life.
After producing several top-selling Christ-centered yoga instructional videos, Susan now brings her unique form of exercise, stretching, and prayerful praise to a market eager for yoga that is centered around Christ and not eastern forms of meditation. She has even included a full-length instructional workout DVD for readers to follow along with!
Susan Bordenkircher has been a certified group fitness instructor for nearly ten years, with special emphasis on yoga for the last five years. Susan developed the unique Outstretched in Worship classes, which combined the disciplines of yoga with her own Christian faith in 2001. The popularity of the classes led to the development of the video ministry in 2002. In 2003 she was recognized by the National Alliance of Fitness Professionals as Instructor of the Year.

Great couple's yoga... an awesome way to "be still and know that He is God."
DaniMOGender: female4 Stars Out Of 5August 26, 2011DaniMOGender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4A very well thought through response to Yoga. This was recommended to me as someone very sceptical to trying yoga. The video is very clear and several levels of difficulty are shown. My only hesitation to giving this 5 stars is that the workout provided is about an hour-a long time for someone getting started.
Karen Schall5 Stars Out Of 5May 14, 2010Karen SchallI love it! The book offers a great philosophical background for yoga that is Christ-centered, and the dvd shows how it's done. It's a great way to focus one's mind and body while giving worship to God, a concept I'm much more comfortable with as compared to "bowing to one's higher self."
Amy5 Stars Out Of 5April 21, 2008AmySusan Bordenkircher has it right. This book is wonderfully inspirational. I have been teaching group fitness classes for more than 10 years in various formats. God and Jesus Christ are in all that I do. Therefore He is at the core of me and in all (yes exercise included) that I am and do. Being a Christian is something you are not something you do. Susan expresses this in all she does. Thank you Susan for paving the way for us. I recommend this to my students, yes a Christ Centered Yoga class, C.A.Y.A. Yoga, in Alabama.
