Editorial Reviews

This story toggles from present day back to the past where Francie is living a fascinating life, although deeply involved with organized crime, not of her own choosing. It was a way to leave her mundane life on the farm, fulfill her dreams of becoming a dress designer and help her sister. As the story unfolds, inspirational truths are discovered by the characters that will warm your heart. And there is a little “stardust” sprinkled throughout the pages for everyone. This is the second in Becky Melby’s Lost Sanctuary series and it’s just as good as the first. A great read – don’t miss it!

I really enjoyed reading this book from Becky Melby. I've never read any of her work before and I was very pleased with her writing!

This book is a mix of history, romance, drama, adventure and family struggle. These characters come from different backgrounds and different view points yet they work together in the discovery of the past and the fight for the future.

I thought the characters were well-developed and easy to relate to in this story. They are all in a learning process which brings them closer together and allows the reader to learn with them.

This book also touches on the plight of kids living in these gang neighborhoods. It really places a burden on your heart to do something to reach out to these kids who are faced with such big decisions and circumstances so early in life.

I look forward to reading more from Becky Melby!

Great story, great characters, and excellent job of weaving the past with the future so that the two stories build on each other increasing the interest and the suspense.  I love the added interest of the older story in the diary and the links to the current story.  This is an excellent example of romantic suspense with historical aspects thrown in, i cried, laughed and totally enjoyed the whole story, all the while the story makes the reader think about what they could be doing to help those less fortunate.

This is a fantastic historical fiction novel set in the Roaring Twenties.  The characters were warm and friendly and well-developed and the author did an excellent job of weaving the past with the future so that the two storylines build on each other increasing the interest and the suspense.  This book has it all....romance, suspense, mystery, and historical accuracy. It was great entertainment with a message.
