This 8-week, video-based study addresses the many pressures faced by young women today, helping them overcome these issues by the grace of Christ. Designed for high school and middle school, teen girls will be able to discuss the struggles they face with honesty, in a safe environment. Each week includes a story about a student that is relevant to the topic for discussion.
The workbook includes real questions about the real issues seen in the video that week. At the end of the material each week, you'll find a "Reality Check," which includes some Bible verses and memorable quotes. It is designed for you to tear out and post somewhere you will see it often, such as the bathroom mirror, refrigerator, or school locker. Reflect and meditate throughout the week, allowing it to sink deeply into your heart so that the truth will set you free.

Why the Name Yellow Roses?
WHY YELLOW ROSES?
Today, the Yellow Rose symbolizes many things; joy freedom, friendship and new beginnings.
When the project first began, the original story, written by Steve Feazel was called "Priceless Value". But during the filming of the documentary, the film's director, Mike Edwards, brought a song to Steve for him to listen to. It was called, "Yellow Roses". Steve started doing research and found that the meaning of the Yellow Rose perfectly fit the key messages of not only the film, but the entire "Yellow Roses" project. As a result of the song, and the further discovery of the flower's meaning, the project's name was changed to "Yellow Roses".
We hope that young women around the world will experience the joy, freedom and new beginnings type of love that God can bring and how valuable they are.
The Yellow Roses Boxed Set Group Study was designed for girls to be able to discuss the themes of the documentary film more in depth and to provide schools, churches, youth organizations and support & recovery groups an 8 week curriculum. Chapter titles for the 8 week study are:
Week 1: Yellow Roses: Real girls. Real life. Real hope. (watching of the film)
Week 2: Too Much Pressure!
Week 3: Airbrushed Illusions
Week 4: Longing For Love
Week 5: Sticks and Stones Can Break My Bones, But Words Can Destroy Me
Week 6: Peer Pressure Pushover?
Week 7: Was It My Fault?
Week 8: The Future You Hope For
Each week of the Yellow Roses study, the group session format includes the same six components:
REAL LIFE - A compelling story introduces the week's theme, followed by several questions participants may respond to in the book and briefly discuss.
REAL ISSUES - A video segment engages participants in the key concepts for the week.
REAL QUESTIONS - Approximately 6-12 questions help participants explore the themes of the video in greater detail.
KEEPING IT REAL - An exercise that helps group members to process what they've learned and make application.
REAL HOPE - Prayer suggestions.
REALITY CHECK - A tear-out sheet of truth that will help with application throughout the week.
About Yellow Roses
Starting with a desire to make a documentary film showcasing true-life stories of teen girls...and inspired by his own daughter...Emmy-Award winning filmmaker, Mike Edwards, took his camera and traveled the United States. And what he found were stories that made him laugh. Stories that made him cry. And stories that he wished people would know about their daughters.
Since that time, this award-winning film has been shown at the United Nations, screened at film festivals, broadcast on television, endorsed by national and international faith-based organizations like the Salvation Army, The Catholic Diocese, Focus on the Family and many others. And best of all, it has reconnected moms and dads with their daughters.
Themes that are dealt with in the film are:
