This has been a great conversation starter for my son and myself. My son Was BAPTIZED On Sunday!! It has been an awesome month watching God work in my family I am so very blessed! Every Morning we get started with this Devotional and the stories in it are fun and interactive to get him really thinking of how to apply God's word directly into life, which at this age is a big thing I think. I know the reviews I have done recently are mostly good but this one is AWESOME!! I LOVE doing this with my son each day it is drawing us closer to eachother and to God. Even though it is designed for kids I am getting a lot out of it to and the conversations with my son are a huge plus! I hope that anyone with pre-teen to teen children will look into this one if you are searching for something that can really get into conversations with your kids while applying God's word to their life. Most devotionals are kind of read and think type this one gets you really talking! Enjoy!

We are a family that is big on daily devotionals, we use them as part of our homeschool bible time, the kids each have their own devotionals book they follow for their personal time with God and we like to use different devotionals as part of family time either at the table for dinner or in our living room before bedtime. They are a great way for kids and families to stay in touch with God along with Bible time. I am always on the lookout for new ones to add to our family and homeschool library. This latest one was "The One Year Choose Your Own Ending Devotions."
Here is the publishers notes about the book:
The One Year Choose Your Own Ending Devotions is an interactive and engaging devotional for elementary-age kids and their families. It's the perfect devotion for dinner time or family time discussions. A short fictional story is given without a complete ending; after reading the scripture passage, readers are encouraged to make up an ending to the story that would follow the Biblical message/theme/lesson. A summarizing point ends the devotion. (Suggested endings are posted in the back of the book for kids and families to compare their endings).
This book also follows the monthly themes of the Pioneer Clubs, a church-sponsored midweek program for kids across North America. Writers of Pioneer Clubs curriculum wrote the devotions to coincide with their calendar, and the group will market devotions as a family companion to their curriculum.
We have several ONE YEAR devotional books and we love them and this was no exception, what I liked about this one in particular was the ability for the kids to think up the ending and use their imagination and really think about what we were reading. My boys are junior high and high school and although those is targeted to Elementary we all enjoyed this as a family. Great for families and kids to really dive deep into thought of God's Word and choose how the story ends.
The One Year Choose Your Own Ending Devotions is a soft copy interactive is ideal for elementary-age children (around 6 to 10 years). This book covers devotions for the whole year with one page devoted to one day.Every devotions start with a short story but without a complete ending. After reading the story, Bible scripture passage, and going through the questions and assignments and the learning outcomes, children and/or parents are encouraged to complete the short story. However, there are suggested endings at the back of the book for comparison or for reference.I receive a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher, Tyndale House Publishers for review. I think its a great tool for parents to use as devotional materials with their children either individually or in a group. The story is a great start as to capture the childrens attention. Encouraging the children to complete the stories is a great opportunity to encourage creativity and also test their understanding of the learning points. The only thing I dont like about this book is that the font size use is too small.
The One Year Choose Your Own Ending Devotions book is a great book to help young minds learn to apply biblical principles to their lives. This devotional tells part of a story and then allows your child to finish it with what they think the right thing to do would be. In the back of the book there are examples to look at after they have ended the story themselves. There are also activities for each devotion to help the child apply the lesson. Thanks to Tyndale House Publishers for providing me with a complimentary copy of this book.
