It wakes up and refreshes what we've known all along. What an eye opener on how much we have in common to the wanderers in the desert! We need to strengthen ourselves and become warriors of God!
Karen4 Stars Out Of 5April 25, 2008KarenA nice read on the book of Exodus. The contemporary stories make the Old Testament book come alive. This book is very applicable to our own day and our own "wanderings."

Tell us a little about yourself. I have been married to my wife Karen for 20 years, have two teenage boys (Kristofer and Taylor), and am the senior pastor of a church in the Houston Texas area.
What was your motivation behind this project? The motivation behind this project was to take the biblical text and make it fun to read and explore by looking at it through stories and applications. Exodus is a great book of the bible that should not be overlooked. We hope that those who find this book will also find it helpful in their study but also inspirational to their faith journey.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? Reg Cox (my co-author) and I hoped we could encourage believers, through the book of Exodus, to see that their is a purposeful direction for their lives. As we say in the book, God did not intend for us to be "wanderers" but rather "warriors," people who know who they are and why they are here traveling through the wilderness of life toward their homeland.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? Max Lucado has been perhaps my greatest influence. Along with about twenty other college students, I interned with Max many years ago in Miami. His early writing and teaching there encouraged me to do the same. Other influences that are also authors have been Lynn Anderson, Jim Herrington, Dallas Willard and Brian McLaren.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: We are honored that anyone would pick this volume up and read it. If you like it, tell someone else about it!
