I purchased the 1st grade book for my kindergartener and was not at all impressed. This seems like more of a beginner book, not a 1st grade book. There are so many lines just for writing one letter, it was a bit too much. There really isn't much of a Christian theme either - at least not in this book. She didn't enjoy doing it. I will not be buying another book from this series.

I love this writing curriculum! It is simple and inexpensive. After each chapter it has the students evaluate their own writing in a very simple manner and also has them draw a picture and write something specific under the picture (i.e. draw a picture of yourself and practice writing your name under the picture).
